Hotel Monterey Edelhof Sapporo

I stayed in this hotel back in July 2024. Although it is still high quality in terms of cleanliness, comfort and service, it feels like the standard has dropped over the years, esp the breakfast buffet. The buffet now has less variety as compared to 2024 (But still an impressive spread). The most attractive change is that the spa used to be paid facility, but now it is complimentary for all guests. Prospective guests need to note that the hotel is located right in between Sapporo station and Odori station, hence it's like 10 min walk either side, and can be quite daunting with luggage. But there is a direct bus from the airport to the hotel. Rooms are comfortable, though bathroom is a little small and has a smell. Overall, great experience. I may have felt a little disappointed because I came here before in 2024, but otherwise, it is a great hotel, highly recommended.

Nice hotel and the staff are helpful and polite. The location is excellent, Close to the sapporo tower. The district seems like office zone of the city.

Good hotel in this budget. Location is very convenient. You have to pay extra for the parking. Staff can be more courteous in general though we don’t have any specific issue.

Excellent hotel I would recommend. Clean and well equipped, all amenities also great quality. I went to spa/hot bath/cold bath almost everyday during stay. Location is about 10 minutes walk from Sapporo station but in the middle where Odori park, TV tower, Clock building nearby. Staff very helpful and provided great support for all request

I love this hotel a lot, especially the onsen and breakfast. Location is quite walking distance from Sapporo station, but can go through subway exit. The hotel feels luxurious and comfortable. Good base to stay in Sapporo for day trips to nearby cities with JR Hokkaido pass.

I have a mixed feeling regarding this round of stay, my first visit years back was great. I can't say the same for this time. We took a 7 hours overnight bus ride from Sapporo, arrived at the hotel at 6.35am. There was no one at the reception nor lobby, which is fine. We saw there was coffee and rolls served at the open area and were thinking of getting a cup of coffee after a long overnight bus ride. Then there was this old man, hotel staff, jump out from no way chasing us away saying this is only for hotel guests. This is not a Japan warm Hospitality which we used to. I think we are not your guests until we receive the room key at 3pm. We don't felt welcome

We re-booked the same hotel after coming back from 1 night in Lake Toya as this hotel is conveniently located with good service. This time round, we booked a corner room and it is bigger than the previous room we booked and at a lower price. There is also an airport limousine bus drop off point just outside the hotel and the pick up point is a 3 mins walk to ANA Crowne plaza hotel. The onsen facility is free for guests - the facility is well maintained and clean.
