Chitwan Gaida Lodge - Animal Lovers & Birdwatchers Paradise

I got my hotel in Kathmandu to book this hotel and I was so impressed. I was greeted with cold towels, juice and bottle of water and while checking in the manager asked what I wanted out of my stay. He recommended that instead of staying at the hotel I instead went on a multi day safari hike through the park staying at home stays (which he arranges at a really good price). However I look at it, he sacrificed his profit for my success in reaching my goals and I am increadable greatful as I had a fab time on hike. I stayed one night and room was great… instantly hot shower! And food the best I had in Nepal. Cost was significantly less than Kathmandu but I can comment on cost of food in the town. The village seems to have a rhino that wonder around during the night; the staff made sure that I was about to see it in person.

I have visited Chitwan National Park a number of times over the yearsand find that Chitwan Gaida Lodge is the best place for me to stay. The lodge is ideally situated to explore both Chitwan National Park and also the BufferZone which is very good for seeing wildlife too, especially birds. You can hire experienced guides at the lodge who will accompany you. Tikaram Giri, the lodge owner is exceptionally good at finding the special wildlife of Chitwan, notably the birds and mammals as well and has many years of experience. The staff are all friendly and helpful. The rooms are comfortable and spacious. I particularly like the garden with its beautiful mature trees. Last but not least the meals are excellent. You can either stay in one of the rooms in the main building or in one of the cottages. There is good wifi reception too.

i'm very glad that we chose Chitwan Gaida Lodge. I picked them because Lonely Planet said it was the best for bird watchers, and birding is a lot of what brought me to Chitwan. They connected me with some excellent guides who really knew their birds, but also all the wildlife in the park. I even saw quite a few birds just sitting in their garden. I was also pleased to discover that the owner had years of experience shepherding tourists throughout Nepal and keeping them safe from disease. Every meal was cooked to order and I felt very safe eating in their restaurant. My cabin was not fancy, but adequate. Besides that, the staff were friendly and helpful. If I ever get to go back to Chitwan, Gaida Lodge is where I'll stay.

Loved the beautiful and well kept grounds. It was nice to come back and relax in the patio after a long day of exploring. They also have a full kitchen making it convenient to have meals here - food was great. The staff were very professional, attentive, and friendly. The rooms were comfortable and clean. We booked our excursions through the lodge and found the activities we booked to be fun priced fairly. Great location and overall great experience. Would definitely book here again!
