Hotel Dada Insadong

The room was very small but expensive and I didn’t know where to put my big luggage! It was quite clean but the building seems very old, however the location is good. It is ok just to sleep one or two days but nothing more! I would not go there again!

I have mixed feelings about this place. The location is ideal for walking to the old palace complex and secret garden. The staff were very helpful, when they were present. But there are no staff before 7am and after 6pm. In fact, customers wanting to check-in during the evening just walk into the unlocked lobby, and fill out some information on a computer tablet to get a PIN code for their assigned room. This works in Korea where the locals fastidiously obey laws/rules, but would fail miserably in Los Angeles, say. My assigned room was supposedly intended for two people. It had a double bed but the room was tiny and cramped, reminiscent of a dormitory room or prison cell. Definitely too small for two people. The Chinese style bathroom served as a shower stall, being completely tiled with a drain in the floor. Unlike a Chinese apartment bathroom, there was no squeegee to push the water down the drain, so the floor stayed wet and slippery for hours. The breakfast can only be described as Spartan. In summary, Dada Hotel Insagong compares somewhat unfavorably with Motel 6. (I apologize to the very helpful staff for being brutally honest in this review.)
