Like may other people I came to Sergiyev Posad for visiting The Trinity Lavra of St. Sergius. This hotel was chosen for its location and positive reviews on other Russian sites like 2GIS and Yandex. The hotel is not very far from the Lavra indeed. Plus it’s away from a main street with many cars and public transport. I got a room with wide windows overviewing the Lavra. Roller blinds prevented sunlight in early morning. Everything in the room looked simple and usable. I had a bed a half wider than for a single person. Electric tea kettle and tea bags were on the desk near wardrobe. I needed more tea bags and sugar so I ask a lady on reception and she willingly brought handful of them. Show gel and shampoo were in bottles mounted to the wall of shower booth. Small soap bar was individually wrapped. You'll get a digital key with opens both the room and the gate to territory surrounding the hotel which also includes parking. Breakfast was in my rate. I had an oatmeal porridge, fried eggs, tea, bread and cheese. It was sufficient to start my day. Now why I didn't rate this hotel with five start. I’m keen on reading before going to sleep. And two bedside lamps didn't serve their purpose, I had to keep ceiling lights on. Once I decided watching TV, but it was fixed parallel to my bed in the far corner. It wasn't possible to watch it lying on the bed. Besides bear in mind that it doesn't have aerial TV channels, instead it streamed the same channels via internet, you’ll have to start an application on that gadget. Bottom line: the hotel is very good, I recommend.
