Firstly I must mention the flight out with Titan Airways. This was excellent, good flight times and on time, much better than TUI. The plane had fixed seats (they didn’t recline) and the legroom was generous, plus, the included food and drink were exemplary. My wife doesn’t normally eat on the plane but this time she ate everything. Don’t bother with the upgrade to ‘Star Class’ it isn’t worth it. Wake up TUI! Otherwise Titan will steal your business. A 35 – 40 minute transfer brings you to the hotel where you receive a warm welcome, a cold flannel and a drink are on hand while you wait to check in, all done very quickly I might add. We had asked for a ground floor room near to the reception and Block A (Hibiscus) fitted the bill. The room was large and spacious with plenty of storage, once we’d unpacked there were still empty drawers and shelves. Electric sockets are UK spec plus, there are a number of USB ports. There is a hairdryer in the bathroom also with shaver points built in. No shaving mirror though. Now for your orientation. You are given some paperwork relating to meals and restaurants etc. but that’s rather confusing. This mentions restaurants by name. Here’s the problem .. not one building has a name on it. They know the names and assume you do too. It would be much better if you were given a map of the resort. So, how do you find out ‘what’s where’? If you stand outside the rear door of reception looking towards the beach the building directly in front of you (between the pools) is the Barracuda restaurant. This is a Pay As You Go (PAYG) restaurant for guests on B&B. The round thatched building to your right, is the Bellingo Bar, this is PAYG. However if you are All Inclusive (AI) then you can use this bar if you want to sit inside if it’s too breezy, as long as you get your drinks from the AI bar. The AI bar (Terrace Bar) is in front of you, to the right of the pool, this is open air but under cover. The AI restaurant (Kadula Buffet) is the long building on the right between the Bellingo bar and the AI bar. If you’re on AI then all your meals will be taken here. The AI restaurant opens at 7am for breakfast then again at 12pm for Lunch and at 7pm for Dinner. Sunday Lunch however is at 1pm, accompanied by a live group from 1pm to 4 pm. Snacks are available from 4pm outside of the AI restaurant (except Sunday). The food is quite good for a relatively small resort. Not so much choice as in the larger resorts but what there is, is of good quality generally. We only had a couple of disappointing meals in the two weeks we were there. We did complain to the management. Sometimes they prepare a lot of things in advance and put them out, only to get cold. Perhaps the addition of a Microwave would help with this. We must comment on the operation of the restaurant however. Very often the opening times seem to catch them out and they’re just not ready. Even the main dishes shown on the Menu are not ready (they haven’t even started to cook
