The weather was absolutely perfect during our visit – clear blue skies, white clouds, and lush green surroundings that were a feast for the eyes, especially for the kids. It wasn't crowded at all. The butler service was outstanding; they contacted us a day in advance to coordinate. The hotel's shuttle service was incredibly efficient, with virtually no waiting time, taking us quickly to any spot on the property. As our child needed a nap, we only participated in a few activities this time: DIY Chongming cake making, vegetable picking, collecting cypress seeds to craft incense, and interacting with the adorable pets. The first floor of the Starry Sky Building features a swimming pool, a specimen exhibition, and a children's play area, while the second floor hosts an art exhibition. All the staff were exceptionally friendly. The dining options were hygienic and generously portioned; I particularly enjoyed the shredded pumpkin and rice toast. Our booked room was very spacious and tidy, even allowing our little one to ride a toy car around indoors. Upon departure, they surprised us with a gift of vegetables, rice, and cookies that the kids adored. Overall, our experience was truly excellent, and we'd definitely come back for a second visit if given the opportunity!

Everything, from the facilities to the service, was top-notch and truly impressive. We thoroughly enjoyed the hands-on lotus tea making and the Chongming-themed parent-child activities, and the Rice Pavilion also incorporated some cool tech. A special mention goes to the exceptional level of service: our butler, the front desk staff, and even the shuttle drivers were incredibly thoughtful and attentive. Every staff member we encountered around the resort greeted us with a warm smile, making us feel genuinely welcome and at home. Remarkably, despite the vastness of the farm resort, we didn't encounter a single mosquito. The environment and the overall service were simply superb. The food at the restaurant was delicious too. All in all, a truly delightful and memorable stay!

The room was comfortable and clean, and the outdoor courtyard was equally spotless and well-maintained. Our Family Suite was decorated in a simple yet elegant style, offering a spacious and open layout, perfect for kids to run around freely. Instead of a traditional TV, there was a large projector screen, allowing for screen mirroring or logging into personal streaming accounts – you could literally watch anything you wanted. With adults and children sitting opposite, enjoying snacks and drinks while watching a movie, it was incredibly relaxing. Upon arrival, we immediately headed to the pool for the kids to burn off some energy. In the evening, we got to interact with the little lambs and bunnies, as the open environment allowed for close contact. Since the hotel's golf cart parking area was conveniently close by and relatively quiet, the adults could sit on a golf cart, keeping a comfortable eye on the children. With the evening breeze sweeping across the fields and us chatting, it was incredibly relaxing. After all that playing, the food at the nearby restaurant was delicious. Following dinner, there was an outdoor movie screening on the large lawn next to the restaurant, complete with free popcorn! Breakfast the next day was served until 10:30 AM, followed by engaging activities such as Chongming cake making and fruit picking. Though it was physically tiring, it was a wonderful emotional release. After returning to our room for a quick shower before check-out, everything felt perfectly balanced!

What a fantastic suburban getaway! The hotel was a delightful surprise. It's a perfect escape from the city's hustle and bustle, allowing you to fully immerse yourself in and enjoy farm life wherever you are on the property. The room was incredibly spacious and clean. The communication from our host beforehand was so thoughtful and attentive. Upon checkout, we even received a lovely surprise parting gift! Highly recommend! This will definitely be our go-to spot for suburban getaways from now on.

Chongming Family-Friendly Hotel Experience: Impeccable Details, Absolutely Worth It! We visited this Chongming hotel with the kids at the tail end of summer vacation. While the price was a bit on the higher side, the experience far exceeded our expectations – absolutely worth every penny! ⛰️ Environment: Serene, Comfortable, and Modern Facilities Our tatami room was a pleasant surprise – brand new, fully equipped, and we could comfortably watch movies on a projector, making it perfect for a family stay. The room was about 200-300 meters from the lobby, but getting around was hassle-free as the shuttle service was on-call and very efficient. On the way, you pass a lotus pond, which in midsummer, with its blooming lotus flowers and dangling seed pods, offers picturesque views at every turn. Both the indoor and outdoor environments were incredibly relaxing and refreshing. 🍴 Restaurant: Delicious Food, Great Ambiance The restaurant is right next to the lobby, with an average cost of around 100 RMB per person, offering excellent value for money. I highly recommend the braised goose and braised white goat – the meat was incredibly tender and flavorful. We didn't encounter a single bad dish; it's no exaggeration to call it 'the best restaurant within a ten-kilometer radius.' What's even better is that after dinner, there are outdoor movie screenings with complimentary popcorn. Watching a movie with the kids while snacking really enhances the whole experience. 🏊♀️ Pool: Clean, Quiet, Family-Friendly The pool facilities were excellent – not only brand new but also exceptionally clean. When we visited, there were very few people, so we practically had the pool to ourselves. The dedicated shallow area is perfect for children to play, allowing parents to relax and supervise. It's an ideal spot for families to cool off and have fun. 💁 Service: Heartfelt Details, Truly Thoughtful The service was the 'biggest highlight' of our trip! Besides the on-call shuttle service, public areas like the lobby and pool thoughtfully provided children's toys, picture books, and even a ping-pong table. The kids could always find something fun to do, giving parents a moment of peace. What was even more touching was that the hotel proactively printed photos for the children, and when we left, they even gave us a bag of organic vegetables – truly a gesture full of warmth and care. Even during the outdoor movie screenings, staff would proactively light mosquito coils. These small details really made a lasting impression. Overall, you could feel that every staff member was genuinely dedicated to providing excellent service. It's a shame we had limited time and couldn't try many of the other activities with the kids. We'll definitely be back when we have the chance, and I sincerely wish the hotel continued success!

My best friend and I first stayed here for a two-night (three-day) trip with our kids in June. We loved it so much that we came back for another one-night (two-day) stay with them just before school started. We absolutely adore Donghe Jiugu! The rooms are spotless. Even for someone who's a bit of a clean freak like me, the rooms were so clean that I didn't even bother taking out my alcohol wipes to clean everything. The dining options are fantastic; both the buffet breakfast and the à la carte lunch and dinner are delicious. Most of the vegetables, eggs, meat, and rice are fresh from the hotel's own farm, and you can tell the chefs put a lot of care into their cooking. That's why every time I stay, I dine exclusively at the hotel – there's even a signature dish I keep ordering again and again! The grounds and amenities are also constantly improving. Besides the scenic lake, rose garden, and fitness trail lined with hollyhocks, they've recently added a charming little bar. My son and I even shared a casual drink of RIO there one evening. Personally, I think Donghe is perfect not only for families but also for young couples looking for a relaxing getaway to enjoy a slower pace of life. You can just unwind at the hotel, have tea and chat, take a stroll, cycle, or even try making Chongming cakes by hand. Even a three-day, two-night stay feels too short! Since we've visited several times now, the staff even introduced us to the owner. She specifically came over to chat with us and very sincerely sought our feedback on how to maintain and enhance the hotel's quality. It's clear the owners are genuinely committed to running and developing the hotel, which is why Donghe's quality has truly gotten better and better since my first visit three years ago! As we were leaving, the hotel even gifted us some of their home-grown vegetables and rice. All the staff came out to see us off (just as they had come out to greet us upon our arrival), which was incredibly thoughtful and heartwarming, making us feel right at home! We had barely left, and I'm already planning our next stay for a few more days before the ***** New Year!
