Cat and Custard Pot Inn

We stayed here for one night, the room was Madam Tynings situated on the 2nd floor (loft) comfortable with an en-suite and refreshments provided. We slept very well as there was no noise from the bar or the street. Breakfast was very good. Just a few reasons for why I gave 4 out of 5 was that the blind in the room was broken so is in the down position, letting in not much light, the toiletries were nice but no body lotion or shower cap supplied, and the bathroom door very hard to close. No wardrobe but a chest of drawers and hangers supplied on back of bathroom door. We ate in the restaurant and the food was plentiful and tasty, the staff were attentive, friendly and knowledgeable. Good value. All in all a good experience but the room was quite expensive, compared to other establishments we have stayed at.

We have visited the Cat & the custard pot several times when we have stayed in Tetbury. The pub is a traditional Cotswolds country pub and Shipton Moyne is beautiful. The Sunday roast has always been something we look forward to on our trip! We were a little disappointed when attending this time around. The pub was busy, and the staff seemed under pressure. The starter we ordered didn’t come and we had to ask for it to be removed from our bill (wasn’t automatically done). The beef was very fatty and the vegetables this time were very bland. We also think the price increased from our last visit, we don’t mind paying for a good dinner but didn’t feel the meal was worth the £24. Especially when to have extras like cauliflower cheese is an additional £5.

Great inn, room is lovely we got one in the attic very spacious and lovely bathroom. Hope you aren’t too tall though, quirky little door to bathroom see the pictures. Food was also great Sunday roast and breakfast was excellent. Would highly recommend.

The accomodation was very nice and the food and service was very good , we would stay here again without hesitation.

We had a very pleasant overnight stay and meal there and the staff were friendly. The room was quite small, the bathroom even more so. The stair carpet to the rooms badly needs replacing. A better range of vegetarian food for dinner is needed and the brulee dessert was tasty but rather small for the price. Breakfast was good but perhaps an offer of more tea and coffee would be a good idea.

Staff were very friendly and helpful. Room clean and spacious. Unfortunately our room was close to the kitchen extractor fan, it went off at around 10.00pm the first night of our stay however was on all night the following evening.
