The hotel is in a good location. You can take the Shima Railway Bus to Unzen Station. The main reason for staying here is to see the scenery. You can go to the various springs on the mountain to see them. It is more spectacular in the morning, which is a rare view. The hotel's dinner and breakfast are quite delicious, but the dinner time is a bit longer.
The large bathhouse has indoor and outdoor areas. We went there in the morning and there were few people.
There are some snack shops and set meal restaurants around, but I didn't go there. I bought pancakes in the shops.
Unzen is on the mountain. If you take the bus, you must pay attention to the time. It's my first time to take the bus on the winding mountain road๐

Outstanding
GGuest UserExcellent!! This is a villa, 2 floors, bedroom on upper floor and dining room on lower floor. private onsen. perfect dining experience, amazing fish dinner. our last trip to this hotel was 3 years ago due to covid. we are very happy to come again
NNuonuokafeiThe hotel is located in Unzen, Nagasaki. Transportation in Unzen is inconvenient. There is no train station for public transportation, only a bus stop. The hotel is in front of the Unzen Information Center. You can get there immediately after getting off the car. There are staff at the door who warmly welcome you. This is a time-honored hotel that opened in 1917. Now it has been renovated. The main restaurant can still see its original appearance. The space is decorated with high peach and classical styles, facing the fairy atmosphere of hell. It is very classic and tasteful. The rooms all have hell views. There are three high-end hotels in Unzen. Kyushu Unzen faces the main view of hell. Kai Unzen faces a smaller hell view but has large windows and a good view. Unzen Miyazaki Hotel also has a good view of hell and has one. The garden is very beautiful, but I didnโt book this hotel because I didnโt have room and board for one person. Three hotels are within walking distance. Kyushu Unzen has French cuisine for dinner, which tastes good and has good ingredients. The Japanese and Western set meals are available for breakfast, which is also good. The hotel does not have a large public bath. Each room has a bathing pool. The hot spring water contains Yunohana, which is acidic and not as slippery as other hot springs. The room has a Japanese tatami which is useless and takes up space. The shortcomings of the facilities are that the hair dryer is poor, there is no overall control of the lights, and the panel has bright spots that affect sleep. Someone in the lounge serves coffee and alcohol for free, and there is a terrace with views and tea on the top floor. Compared to the hotel, the sulfur smell is much stronger than that of Kai. In short, it is recommended to stay in Unzen. The last picture is Unzen Miyazaki and Unzen Kai.
SShihutaoyaThe recommendation I saw on youtube was attracted by the invincible sea view. You can see the blue sea as soon as you walk into the room, of course you have to have a good weather~
The self-contained hot spring is very suitable for families and couples.
Breakfast is delivered to the room, rich western set menu, and warm miso soup.
MM9025The environment is so good, the sulfur hot springs hereโจ๏ธare definitely real hot springsโจ๏ธ!
The hotel is located in Unzen City, which is a resort for Kyushu people. The Unzen Hell Scenic Area is right next to the main road. It is very large and feels more shocking than the Hell Valley in Hakone. The hotel's breakfast and dinner are gorgeous, but to be honest, the meat is a bit thin. The open-air bath and large bath are both good, especially the open-air bath facing the forest landscape and open for a long time.
The best thing is the service. Although some service staff don't speak English very well, they are very enthusiastic. Knowing that we didn't drive by ourselves, they sent us to another city a hundred kilometers away in a commercial vehicle.
In fact, the transportation of the hotel itself is also very convenient. If you come from Shimabara, you can arrive directly at the hotel door. If you come from Isahaya or Nagasaki, the bus will go to the city center and you need to transfer or walk to the hotel in about 15 minutes. The only drawback is that the room does not have a bathroom, which is more like a traditional Japanese hotel.
GGuest UserIt was right next to โUnzen Jigokuโ and the hot spring source was directly raised, so the hot water was very good and the satisfaction was high.
The meal was also rich in local ingredients, and I learned to talk.
GGuest UserWe are so happy to stay in this hotel!
From the moment I stepped into my room, I was greeted by the soothing warmth of the private hot spring. The comfortable bed provided a perfect retreat after a day of exploration.
The highlight, however, was the delightful dinner experience. The summer menu featured a fusion of Japanese ingredients and Western cooking techniques. Each dish was thoughtfully prepared, with fresh flavors that allowed us to taste the local ingredients.
Since we donโt speak Japanese. The staff patiently explained each dish, making the dining experience even more enjoyable.
Overall, the service was exceptional, and the combination of comfort, cuisine, and attentive staff made our stay truly memorable. I highly recommend this hot spring hotel to anyone seeking a relaxing getaway.
TTianmaxingkongxiaoluerThe hotel is very big and has 3 elevators. It took me 2 days to get familiar with it. The hot springs on the rooftop are indoors and outdoors. The buffet dinner has a small hot pot, which tastes good. The hotel is close to the main attractions and is convenient for buses.
TTo Eat and To TravelThe now-Emperor of Japan stayed here when he was still the Prince. Not the most new and fancy hotel in the area, but still has its unique charm. Our room was by the lake which the sunset can be viewed from the balcony (but unfortunately we missed it due to arriving too late). Service was great, staff have good English. The breakfast was definitely the highlight, the food was nice and the view from the venue was very pleasant. Our plan didnโt have dinner but I am sure it would be just as good.
