One to go to in Sidmouth is The Victoria Hotel. An excellent Hotel with Spa Facilities. This timeless classic is a must do.

We stayed for five nights in the Victoria suite. This suite is accessed by a small number of stone steps from outside the hotel or via steep narrow steps from inside. It is beautifully furnished throughout and benefits from having a separate lounge and small kitchenette. A warning that it has connecting doors to a garden room and this was booked to other guests when we stayed which led to slight noise. A huge bathroom with his and hers sinks, bath and separate shower was clean with plenty of towels. Soap and shower gel was via dispensers fixed to the wall. Bed linen is changed once a week or on request. We ate in the main restaurant each night and there is a daily changing choice of menu on table d'hote and an a la carte menu at additional cost. The menus however were sometimes a bit odd, offering modern food to a clientele that it perhaps did not suit judging by the clientele during our stay. However, we found something enjoyable to order all the time. Excellent choice of menu at breakfast. Restaurant staff were very attentive. One think we did notice had changed since our previous visit was that Cuppachino at breakfast was at extra charge, which I expect stemmed from a high demand due to the standard of the coffee. All this having been said, most customers will find the restaurant quite satisfactory and good value for money. We made some special requests and they were fully met and exceeded expectations. We did not use the spa facilities

We have met as a family for the last three years at this lovely hotel. Every single aspect of our stay from start to finish is always superb! Lovely professional staff, superb food, great rooms and magnificent location.

Visited today for Sunday Lunch and what a marvellous relaxing and traditional experience. As standards seem to be dropping everywhere, somehow this hotel is maintaining them or exceeding expectations. From the friendly and personal greeting from the concierge at the door to the young chap and lady serving us ( Couldnt quite read the name badge but think it was Ritchie who was in training) , you staff have a way which perfectly balances politeness and chattiness with professionalism. The food was excellent, the ambience fantastic and were even helped with taking a couple of photos afterwards. Please keep doing what you are doing

I and my daughters agreed that it was the nicest hotel we had stayed in. The staff are impressive and well trained,.friendly and thoughtful. The Victoria made looking after my disabled sister a pleasure for us all. We all look forward to our return.
