Dontrei Villa Angkor

Mitigé Le site paraissait plus grand sur les photos et ces derniers dates d'y a longtemps vu la végétation qui a poussé et les nouveaux bâtiments qui se sont construit. L'hôtel n'est plus aussi aéré et ne reflètent plus la réalité. L'hôtel garde du charme par son style bois Khmer et sa belle piscine à débordement. Le gros Point noir a été le bruit ! Tout le temps de la musique forte a des heures affolantes, du soir ou du matin (5h). Si non les enfants qui crient à la piscine à 7h du matin et personne pour leur dire de respecter les gens autour, on dirait qu'il n'y a pas de règlement. Attention ne buvez absolument pas l'eau qu'ils vous donnent à l'hôtel, même si ils vous assure qu'elle est clean, elle ne l'ait pas du tout. Moi conjoint et moi même avons été malade plusieurs jours et cela a disparu dès que nous avons bu de l'eau en bouteille. Si non le personnel est ultra sympa et souriant. Par contre attention sur votre site vous avez marqué Petit déjeuner inclus et transit aéroport/hôtel mais ce n'est apparemment pas le cas ! Il y a un mal entendu quelque part. Beau potentiel de l'hôtel donc mais dommage pour les nuisances sonores. Si non le perdon

A hotel located on the outskirts of Siem Reap, about a 20-minute scooter ride to Angkor Wat. The rooms are fairly large and clean, but after sunset, they become very dark. The lighting is extremely poor (I struggled to find anything in my suitcase). The wooden walls make it easy to hear all surrounding noises. This wouldn’t be such a big problem if not for the loud music from the restaurant, which starts at 6 AM and plays until late in the evening. I had to ask them to turn it down because it was impossible to sleep. The music is played by a staff member who dances with a glass of wine as late as 11 PM. At the end of our stay, we were asked to pay $3 for a broken glass. When we said that’s not a normal price, the staff member laughed and insisted it was. But when we said we wouldn’t pay more than $1, he quickly agreed for that price, which proves the glass was not worth the price claimed originally. We never got any receipt for the glass payment. The price for scooter rental at the hotel is over 50% higher than in the city.

This hotel is around 25 min away from the center of Siem Reap, by Tuk Tuk, and is not closer to the temples. It is actually in an rural area (next to one side of the cottages there is a muddy area). It is presented as a quiet location, but because of the poor isolation (lack of windows in the bathroom, poor quality-not fully closing windows in the room) it is not so quiet. The cottages were build following local standards, and appear quite run down, as they get older. The pretended peaceful - escape little resort is overruled by the rural environment, poor quality interior of the rooms and the distance to the city. The staff is nice, and helpful. Overall this venue is not worth the money, for us it did not present any advantages to other venue in the city, but quite a few disadvantages. The price charged is similar to the price charged in Europe for a good 2 stars -3 stars hotel, but the quality is not on pair.

Dontrei Villa is a peaceful place to stay if you want to spend few days surrounded by nature and friendly people. Have been for an anniversary celebration and got an upgrade to a suite bungalow with private swimming pool..what a beautiful surprise! The staff is very kind and friendly, always ready to sort any issue out very quickly. The owner/manager is a lovely lady that has designed this place with lot of love!Wow! The main swimming pool is incredible and surrounded by beautiful plants and trees.. The location is a bit outside of the city but it's worth it to spend some time in a tuktuk and enjoy the outskirts. Definitely recommended!

Absolute heaven away from the hustle and bustle but still handy to the Angkor Wat temples. Dontrei Villas represents excellent value for money. The rooms are wonderful with a beautiful boat-like bath for added romance. Everything you need is provided. The on-site restaurant serves fresh and delicious food, both Western and Khmer. The resort facilities are heaven. The amazing pool is a welcome relief after a day at the temples. are rubber tubes and life jackets if desired. The setting, the rooms and the delightful host and her family made our stay at Dontrei Villas a highlight of our Cambodian holiday.

We absolutely loved this place and will go back for sure. The room was clean and beautiful. The onsite restaurant and cafe was great value and delicious, especially the coffee. The pool was clean and lovely. Staff were very friendly and helpful, they were able to arrange tours, pick ups or in room massages. Family Friendly too.
