I reserved several rooms for World Championship team members months ahead of our trip and the entire reservation was wrong/cancelled upon arrival. Other than a small change weeks before, I confirmed our reservation 6 months prior, 3 months prior, 1 month prior, and 1 week prior. My reservation was from "(date) - (date)" but apparently the hotel took that as checking in for JUST that start date & JUST that end date (not staying between - !!!). My email even said that my team was coming to compete in the Championship at Haras du Pin nearby - an event that was well publicized in the area. It should have been understood that we were staying the whole week. On arrival, the hotel said those rooms were NOT available the whole week & could only offer me 1 room with those dates. This was incredibly stressful as we were going to be competing & working very long days (taking care of horses on the venue..not wanting to be far from them). The worst part is that the hotel staff was NOT SORRY about their HUGE MISTAKE. He was insistent that I was wrong - showing me my own emails where it clearly said "(date) - (date)". We were left on our own to figure this out. NO other hotels had a single room, so I ended up searching the countryside for as many Airbnb's as I could find. I pieced it together after several hours. The hotel still expected us to use the 1 day of rooms & was quite angry with us when I told them I found other rooms (since they had messed up the reservation). They were eventually able to give me a second room...which we decided to use for another person who was coming Thursday instead (and I emailed this change to the hotel). But then, when that person arrived the next day they were told THAT room was also cancelled!!! At 10 pm, we had to find a couch for that person to sleep on. But somehow that same room was available again the next morning; the hotel's response was "I have received your email [with the change]...and having yet another no show I cancelled the room on Thursday morning". So he received my email with the change from Wednesday to Thursday check-in & decided to cancel Thursday morning anyway...without telling me. Basically, the message was that since we didn't use the partial-reservation that they had messed up, we were being punished. NEVER NEVER NEVER trust this hotel on what they say. Since they don't accept payment ahead, they can just cancel your room with no consequence. I could NOT believe the incredibly rude behavior, especially after the full mistake on their part. If he had been sorry about the mistake, or tried to call other hotels for us, or done ANYTHING to work with us, I wouldn't be so angry. This was just unreal. BEWARE!
