We booked 5 rooms for 7 members of the family for two night (15-17 April 25).
We arrived to the hotel around 6pm. The receptionist at that time was not very helpful with unwelcoming attitude.
She told us that we need to deposit $50 for each the room. I said to her that this was not mentioned in any booking references. We said that we were not aware of it and we did not have Singaporean dollar with us as we have just arrived from vietnam. She then said that if we do not have the deposit we have to leave our id card in the reception? She already had all our passport details.
I said to her this is the first time that a hotel is asking for a deposit and some form-of identity card to be kept in a hotel though having seen our passports!
I have travelled around the world and stayed ag s better hotels but they have never asked for a deposit or suggested to leave our id card in the reception?
We had no choice so we placed our UK driving licence with the receptionist only then she issued the room keys. I have paid in full for the hotel rooms 5 months in advance. We were very socked and confused with her demand and attitude to the guests! She never briefed us about the hotel amenities. We were only given the room keys to find our rooms.
The receptionist should go for a hospitality management training. Her service was utterly poor. Thus is the first hotel around the many hotels that I have stayed had to experience this poor service. The wifi was not working.. we would not have guessed that Singapore has this sort of hotel in existence!
