"We stayed at the hotel for two nights with a tour group. The location is ideal in the old town, and all the sights are easily accessible on foot. The rooms are small but clean. The breakfast is varied, but the service is overwhelmed when dealing with a large group. At the first breakfast, with other guests present, scrambled eggs and bread weren't replenished for about 20 minutes. The only coffee machine is slow and struggles with larger groups. There weren't enough cups, and then the milk ran out, followed by the coffee. Each time, guests had to ask the staff for help and wait. On the second day—despite a smaller group—the same sorry state of affairs occurred: this time, butter was missing for an extended period, and the salmon was presented whole in a tray that only allowed for the removal of 3-5 slices stuck together. Everything was in a cramped, restrictive refrigerated display case. On the first evening, due to an oversight, dinner wasn't included in our booking. The group received a cheese fondue with only white bread. At our table sat a fellow traveler with a gluten intolerance who asked for two potatoes, which she was willing to pay extra for, but this request was refused. The hotel charged the same price for this meager meal as for the three-course dinner the following day, which was very well received. Absolutely unacceptable! Overall, the service staff were certainly trying their best, but were simply overwhelmed by the number of guests at both breakfast and dinner."
