Stoney Creek Hotel Sioux City

The personnel at the counter were all great, especially when we checked in. We enjoyed the breakfast buffet, and the wooden tokens make a nice addition with a nightcap. The local was close to the Hard Rock and Famous Dave's that I was looking forward for a BBQ Dinner.

We loved our stay. We were nervous because previous reviews said the furniture and carpets needed replacement. Not true! The ambiance they are going for is a rustic cabin or fishing lodge. As far as I could tell, just one chair in each room is „distressed“ meaning the chair was new but had been beat up to make it look old. The breakfast was very good. I‘ve never seen croissants at a hotel breakfast before. We especially appreciated that the rooms were truly clean-no stray hairs or flecks of junk to try to ignore. I thought the beds were perfect while my husband said they were a little too firm.

This place is disgustingly bad! Don’t even try to use the pool area! The locals not staying there take it over and destroy it! The side door to the pool area is left open for everyone to enter! No secuity! People smoking pot just outside that door! The next morning my granddaughter wanted to use the pool, but shocker it was closed for cleaning the entire day! First thing in the morning, a man was passed out in the stairwell! Something else kids shouldn’t see! Don’t stay here!!! When you report issues about pool area, nobody cares! Housekeeping in the hallway dropping the F bomb with kids around. This hotel is a free for all! Would expect better at this price point!

The first two nights I stayed here it was perfect I was even offered a free soda or alcohol drink with a token they give you when you first arrive and check in. The black Dolan Hospitality box came in handy to charge my phone. Everything worked great and then I found out I had to stay an extra day for work, so my company did this same hotel. However the 2nd time was not so pleasant. I walked in and literally waited 15 minutes while Shelly the worker was off somewhere roaming around. No smile, no hello, it’s like she didn’t enjoy her job. I wasn’t offered that same free soda or alcohol drink drink token either. I got up to my room and it was all not the same as last room. The toilet doesn’t flush and constantly runs, the air conditioner cover thing was broken off, the curtain had some trouble coming down over my window and was all bunched up, the sink doesn’t drain well, hardly any towels and wash clothes at all, the soap was not filled up in the shower , the black box that charges the phone didn’t work and so I called the front desk and was on hold for 15 minutes no answer so I went downstairs and waited again for another 15 minutes and Shelly comes shuffling in still no smile, and I told her what the problem was. She acted like I didn’t know what I was talking about and I tried explaining to her as she said oh maybe somebody left an iPhone charger I said no I don’t need the charger. I have an iPhone cord. I clearly have the charger I just need a new box that you guys have in your rooms to charge it in because your black box is not working, And she acted like she did not know what I was talking about. I said will let me go and get it and I will show you. She said oh no no that’s OK. We don’t have a charger sorry, I know she knows what I was talking about. She wanted to play dumb with me and I don’t appreciate that. Maybe you should train your employees better around here because this hotel is an embarrassment. I thought it was great at first, but this hotel sucks. I will never stay here again. I would rather stay as super eight or some ghetto motel down the road.

The Stony Creek Hotel's lobby area had an interesting rustic decor. Interstate Highway 29 was nearby and the rooms were nice and the parking was free. We didn't want to drive to a restaurant but we had a good pizza and glasses of wine for dinner in the ground floor bar.

worse hotel ever. Had 25-30 minute wait to check in and the front desk person had the worse lips, facial piercings, looked so bad and scary and she never talked. should have a more welcoming person tp greet the guest. Breakfast was so bad we threw it away, eggs were cold, rubbery, biscuits and gravy cold. Room was dirty, smelly. Very loud with children running and yelling down the hall ways.
