Well thought out room with spacious bathroom (containing bath, so rare nowadays). Beautifully decorated and exceptionally clean. Greeted by very hospitable owner even though we were very early. Situated short walk to town centre and castle. Limited parking.

We were happy with the stay itself and the room/ location and service. However I am slightly disappointed as I have come away from the stay with a damaged car after being encouraged to park on their own private driveway, that we believed was safe after being told to park here. As we was checking out the morning after our stay we got asked if the car that had been damaged belonged to us and then informed that 'the wing mirror had been knocked slightly but everything was still in tact'. We only got informed as we was actually leaving not when the host got informed of the incident and she had then took it upon herself to go outside and use cellotape on a guests car that does not belong to herself to keep the back of the wing mirror in tact - in hope that we wouldn't notice that it had actually completely snapped off and needs fully replacing. We got told to go to Halfords which was 7 miles away to see if they could help. It was then only afterwards that we called back and said we are unhappy and concerned that there aren't any CCTV cameras visible on the property facing towards where guests are parking. The host then offered to put some money towards the damage which we obviously appreciate but do believe the behaviour was quite unprofessional and not what you expect when trying to enjoy a stay. We have now come away from this stay having to pay over £200 for this damage to my car with no explanation of how this was done. We also did not see any 'Park at your own risk' signs up around the property only a sign saying it was private property and for customers only. If you are considering staying at this property I advise you do not park on the front drive that is attached and to maybe consider parking on a secure car park that is managed by cameras.

Highly recommended guest house. Stayed for 2 nights from 28th Dec. Debbie was a superb host, nothing was any trouble. Nice and cosy rooms that were always warm and tidy. Comfortable bed with clean sheets, great breakfast choice. The guesthouse is in a great location for town centre, 2/3 minute walk where there is plenty to see and do. Lovely walk around the back of castle, take boots as can get quite muddy. Once again we loved our first visit to Skipton which was made better by where we stayed. Will be back.

What a lovely room and bathroom. Besides the very busy and loud street in front of the house is the location very good. Tesco and Morrisons close by and only a few minutes walk to the town centre, train station and buses. Breakfast was very nice and Debbie is such a lovely person. Enjoyed staying at the Highfield and Skipton so much I didn't want to leave.

As we have stopped in skipton on numerous occasions, and in other hotels, this was our hidden jem ,the room was just right for us very clean and cosy warm as it was ,baltic outside, bed very comfy slepped well ,and very close to the centre of skipton ,the landlady is very friendly, and the breakfast was delicious, I would highly recommend this hotel, we will be back in the near future, faultless for us ,thank-you for a lovely stay ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Highfield House is in a great location just a couple of minutes walk into the town centre which was lovely. There was on street free parking outside and in the road to the side of the hotel. The owner was so friendly and welcoming, giving us some helpful information about pubs and restaurants in the vicinity. The room was really clean and had a tv, fridge, fan, large wardrobe, full length mirrors in room and bathroom, tea/coffee facilities and hairdryer. There were biscuits and soaps/shower gels and clean towels. The bed was super comfortable and I slept really well. I’ve seen some comments about road noise and whilst we were in room 5 which is next to the road, we didn’t experience any issues. I think the only thing I would say is that the room decor could do with a bit of an update but that didn’t take away from our stay. The breakfast was fantastic with lots of choice including various cereals, toast and jams, full English, scrambled eggs or beans on toast. There was also fruit, yoghurts and fruit juice. It was in a room in the basement which also had a nice snug area with tv. We both had the full English and I have to say that we’ve stayed in a lot of hotels/B&M’s and this was one of the best we’ve ever had - for £7.50 we felt it was incredibly reasonable as we also had cereals and could’ve had anything else that was there. Overall we were extremely impressed with our stay from the lovely host through to the food and accommodation and should we ever stay in Skipton again, would absolutely book in at Highfield House. Highly recommend!

Perfectly located, walk in to town 5 mins. Lovely host, room clean and comfortable. Lovely breakfast, nice selection. A hand soap and shower gel would be a welcome addition. A little thing but nice. We would stay again, Skipton is such a lovely town.
