Cliff Lodge and Spa

This place is not a good value for money. You expect a smidge of luxury at these prices. Instead you are told: "no late check out allowed, no hot water in rooms, no coffee creamer..." The doors slam and wake you up. The rooms look like an old holiday inn. The closet was just a dusty AC unit. The pillows were awful. I wouldn't stay here again unless they cut the price by 1/3.

The Cliff club at Snowbird is an absolutely gorgeous property! The spa is unbelievable and top-notch. The accommodations are comfortable, especially with the hot tub on the balcony.

It's the best place ever!

I’ve stayed at the Cliff Lodge at least a 1/2 dozen times over the years. It hasn’t changed much. The rooms are a bit dated, nothing fancy, but fine. A little disappointing for the price that you pay, but it’s all about having quick access to the slopes. The spa and roof top pool and hot tub are quite nice. Having easy and included access to the spa is a bonus for staying on the spa floor. However, this time we were sorely disappointed with our room. When we arrived they checked us into a room two or three doors down from the spa, 937 I think. The mildew smell was quite noticeable upon entering the room. When we mentioned this to the front desk, we were told there were no other rooms available accept a room on the 2nd floor, not the spa floor, which is what we’d paid extra for. About 5 minutes later, we received a call saying they were able to move us to another room on the spa floor - room 933. When we walked into that room, it initially smelled better, but after about 15 minutes it was obvious it had just been sprayed with air freshener and the awful mildew smell was back. Not quite as bad as the first room, but still noticeable and gross. We let the front desk know that the second room was no better, the next morning, but nothing further was done. After daily maid service you could tell the smell would be slightly improved from whatever air freshener they sprayed. We kept our windows open throughout our stay, despite heavy snow, to try and keep the air fresher. At the end of our stay as we were packing up, we opened the secondary closet that housed part of the HVAC system only to find a furnace filter that looked like it hadn’t been changed in a year. Who knows if changing that would have improved the smell or if it was just proximity to the spa or something else wrong with their HVAC system, but it would have been nice if they’d at least been on top of maintenance enough to change their in room filters regularly. We mentioned this in our check-out email along with our frustration about paying $800 a night for a smelly room, but never received a reply. I’m sure we’ll be back someday because we love Snowbird, but it will certainly be with trepidation about what we will find. The one silver lining was the staff, in general, was helpful and friendly.

Awesome location! We valeted for $20 a day but a free lot was offered too. They were awesome and super helpful with holding our luggage a few times. We were able to check in early which we were grateful for! The atrium was great, but it was closed at 5pm one evening and one afternoon around 12. Super bummed about that. The hot tub was shut down one night but seemed to resume normal operations the next day. Seventy one was cool. Got the vibe they’re very understaffed—unfortunately the service/food time reflected this. But as a previous server, I totally get it so all good. Overall a great hotel! Not a ton of food/bar options in Snowbird but it’s a small town. If you’re here to ski, this is the spot. Book early, they fill up!
