"A deposit was required at check-in. I don't understand why they insist on this even for solo travelers. The water supply in the bathroom was intermittent, so there were frequent periods without water. Furthermore, the faucet was broken and sprayed water halfway over the sink. When I inquired about it, the technician they sent to check it claimed this was normal. The most outrageous thing, however, came at check-out. Before departure, the room had to be inspected, which made it very tight, and I ended up missing my bus. They could have informed me at check-in, or at the very latest the day before, that I needed to allow extra time for check-out – especially since I was leaving at 5:00 a.m. An employee checked the room and claimed I had unplugged the minibar/refrigerator. That's true – but only because the refrigerator was far too loud for me. Then they tried to charge me for the drinks from the minibar, claiming they had warmed up as if I had consumed them. I didn't use or touch the minibar at all. Anyone familiar with how a refrigerator works knows that it easily keeps things cold for four to six hours. The refrigerator was only unplugged from midnight to 5:00 a.m. Besides, power outages can happen at any time. Drinks aren't perishable and can easily be recooled. On top of that, the staff didn't speak English, making proper communication nearly impossible. Because of the delay at check-out, I ended up missing my bus. I've never experienced anything so outrageous. I contacted Trip.com directly afterward. They reimbursed me for the additional taxi fare and offered a small compensation. I generally understand that hotels require a deposit, especially when many young guests are coming for a party holiday. However, to stop me at 5:00 a.m. without prior notice for a room check and then try to charge me unjustified extra fees is, in my opinion, extremely rude. The hotel hasn't contacted me to this day, and why would they? Most people only come once anyway, so they try to squeeze out extra cash. Classic tourist trap."
