Hotel Bristol

You can sum up The Bristol in one word, wonderful. But if you want a little more detail here goes. The hotel is placed high up overlooking Sorrento town and the Bay of Naples. It has super views of Vesuvius. If you can, get a sea view with balcony on a higher floor (we were on floor 4) it is so worth it. We loved sitting on our balcony overlooking the bay. Its about a fifteen minute slow walk down into town. Some people will take more or less time but in my opinion its not a bad walk. It is a narrow path into town so take care and you must keep to path. The path and road leads you right onto the main pedestrian street Corso Italia. I would say the hotel is old school, meant in the best possible way, its all about excellent service and quality. It has a nice pool and lots of comfortable chairs on hotel roof. As others have said the pool does become deep very quickly but there is a shallow end with a ledge to sit on. There is a nice bar at night often with gentle entertainment, we sat a couple of nights. You can take your drink onto a terrace and see the twinkling lights of the bay and the town and listen to the music in the background, very romantic. Rooms are simply furnished and comfortable they have TV but we didn't switch it on, no need with that beautiful view from the balcony. Now the best bit, without doubt its the staff. All the staff we met round the pool, the front desk and house keeping were lovely. But the restaurant staff were above and beyond. We were half board. You were always greeted with a genuine smile. Tables allocated when you turn up to the restaurant in the evening, which is the fairest way. If a table by window becomes available the next person gets it. Tables cleared quickly and we never had to wait for a table. We were lucky enough to get a table by the window on a number of nights, so special. The food by the way is delicious. For evening meal you get to choose from five starters, five mains and five desserts, a good selection. Breakfasts plenty of choice with fruit, cereals, cooked selection and meats. Eggs and omelets are freshly cooked for you. My wife has a kiwi fruit allergy so everyday at breakfast the waiter would come across and ask what fruit she would like and the chef would prepare a plate separately just for her. Back to the restaurant staff. All the staff were so lovely, professional and attentive, nothing was to much trouble for them. After a few days you cant wait to see them and have a little chat. Even if you were not on their area often they would come across to say hello. I wasn't going to single out anyone but we have to say a special thank you to Raffaele who was so charming, Carmine always there as you arrived, you instantly felt at home when he greeted you. And of course Gianluca so happy always a smile. Oh and Gianluca I might have been the professional photographer but all those super photos we kept asking you to take, asking you to make sure you got the beautiful view in as well

Arrived at the Bristol Hotel on 11/07/25 and stayed half board for 7 days. The reason I booked this hotel was because of all the great reviews and I am delighted to say they were not wrong. This is an amazing hotel and I would strongly recommend it. When you arrive you are taken aback by the amazing view over the Bay of Naples and Mount Vesuvius! The hotel is beautifully decorated in a classical style. It is spotlessly clean and very well organised. When I first entered the bedroom I was a bit underwhelmed by the decor but it was so clean, had everything we required, good shower, very comfortable bed and balcony with that amazing view. The maids did a great job keeping it spotless every day. The pool area was lovely and peaceful and there was never a problem getting a sun bed no matter what time of day. The restaurant was fabulous( again with that view) and the service was great. Every evening there was a different menu to choose from and the food was delicious. It was table service which was a treat. But what made this hotel was the staff! They were amazing. They were such genuinely lovely people who couldn’t do enough for you and always with a smile. I would like to say a special Thank you to Grace at the reception who was very helpful and even arranged for us to watch the Wimbledon men’s final by setting up the big tv screen in the lounge. Thank you to Christian and Alissio who worked in the poolside bar during the day and the hotel bar in the evening. They were always so happy , helpful and welcoming. Thank you to Mariano the bar manager who was very attentive and friendly. Thank you to Luca, maitre’d, who always gave us a warm welcome at the restaurant and ran the restaurant so smoothly and finally to the lovely waiters Carmine and Gianluca for being so attentive in such a busy restaurant and of course always with a big smile. Fabulous hotel , great location stunning views , extremely friendly staff from front desk to Porter with luggage to pool boys to restaurant staff , Clean rooms comfy beds , Chef at breakfast doing omelettes 1st class , great choice in restaurant everyday day , quick attentive staff at meal times . Views are outstanding Carmen & Raffaell so well mannered and a pleasure to see everyday . Loved our stay , I’m sure we will return .
