Très mauvaise expérience. Je ne recommande à personne cet hébergement. Ils ont essayé de nous arnaquer en nous faisant payer 20% de "city tax", en plus des 18% d'ITBIS. La "city tax" n'existe pas en République Dominicaine. C'est juste un prétexte pour faire payer plus cher les clients quand ils sont devant le fait accompli. De plus, ils ne voulaient pas que l'on paie en carte, juste en cash ou en transfert sur un compte en Belgique. Ils ont dit qu'ils allaient annuler notre réservation sans frais car ils ont compris que nous avions compris leur mais au final, ils ont chargé ma carte une semaine après sous le nom d'une autre entreprise. Après enquête avec la police locale, cette autre entreprise était dans le même groupe que cet hébergement. J'ai fait opposition sur ma carte auprès de ma banque, une déclaration de fraude à la police et l'argent m'a été remboursé. Ce sont vraiment des arnaqueurs qui profite des touristes qui ne connaissent pas les règles de taxe en République Dominicaine.

The lodge was very rustic and sort of charming. However, it could use some serious TLC. The room we stay in was in serious need of repair and furniture. The pool and jacuzzi were not in working order. The food cooked for us by their cook was fabulous! The bar and bartender staff were very nice! The breakfast was good as well. The best part was the “wild” beach and dinner by it! My friend and I had a great time! A night or two there would be recommended.

The staff was good but didn't much to do

Food was not good at all. Weather on our particular weekend didn’t help. It was raining tons and the flooding made our stay miserable. Property needs to pay attention to breakfast and humidity in the room and ceiling leakages while raining.

I strongly advise against booking this hotel. From the moment I arrived, it was clear this place is not as advertised. There was nobody in the lobby to greet me, and I was awkwardly asked to sign paperwork with no explanation or assistance. The room had electrical issues, so they had to bring in a floor fan – definitely not the experience I expected. The rules here are absurd. There are strange signs everywhere telling you what you can’t do – no eating or drinking in the room, which is just unreasonable. And the room itself? Absolutely basic, with nothing but a bed. No welcome water, no amenities – I’ve never stayed in a hotel that doesn’t offer a simple bottle of water upon arrival. The cleanliness is horrifying. The first thing I saw when I walked in was animal waste on the mat by the door. Inside, the place was no better. The bathroom was disgusting – urine stains on the toilet, a broken toilet, and everything smelled moldy and mildewy. This is not a lodge, it’s a filthy disaster. And to top it off, you’re not allowed to flush toilet paper, so imagine having to put it in a bin that wasn’t emptied. I couldn’t even sleep properly here; I only used the room to change clothes. The dining area was just as bad, with animals running around where food was served. I was also shocked to find there is no security – the balcony door didn’t lock, and when I raised this concern, the owner was dismissive and uninterested. He didn’t care about my safety; all he said was, “Use the safe.” I was concerned for my personal safety alongside my possessions. A bike lock materialised. As you can see from my pictures this didn’t provide a solution. Don’t be fooled by the old, good reviews – this place has seriously gone downhill, especially since 2022. It’s a huge disappointment and a waste of money. There are plenty of other better options in the DR that will actually offer you a safe, clean, and enjoyable experience. Avoid this place at all costs!
