Zaheer's Hotel

I arrived at Zaheers after a long drive down, I was greeted on arrival with cold refreshments, my room was cozy and the bed was very comfortable. Just outside a train station it was easy access for me and my family to get into london and into Cambridge for sight seeing. I cannot recommend this place enough and cannot wait to go back in the summer! 10/10 for me

Please please do not book this place. It is an absolute hole. Room door wouldn't even lock. Walked out and will now try and get a refund from ***********. DO NOT BOOK THIS PLACE. IT SHOULD BE SHUT DOWN.

filfy dirty, no hot water, no food or drink available, no staff just an envelope by the entrence with your name on and a key inside, the place is a shambles, rubbish everywhere, outside is terrible old matteresses, kitchen waste with rats, maggots, fire doors wedged open, fire escapes locked, fire extinguisher's 3 years out of date, the place needs to be shut down

We had to curtail the booking as there was no hot water for washing or showering, no staff at all, no-one in attendance in the hotel, no dining or bar open, the place gave the impression of being unsuitable for accommodation. The outside was a mass of uncut grass and weeds growing everywhere. I have photos to confirm. Do not book this hotel! As Jesters, it was excellent.

AVOID AVOID AVOID I booked a room at Zaheer’s Hotel and Restaurant for Friday 12th August evening. Check in was from 3pm, we arrived at 2:30pm only to find the whole place completely closed and looked run down. It looked closed for business entirely. It had a board and sign out front that said closed for business. I tried ringing the number on the booking numerous times, only to have no answer. I also rang a mobile number supplied on the booking which was the ex hotel manger that no longer works there. I messaged via *********** in advance of my stay to day we are arriving early and no reply. I peered through the doors and windows of this so called ‘hotel and restaurant’ and saw a number on a a4 piece of paper scribbled to call. I called, it was a lady saying she’ll be there in 15 minutes if we could wait to give us a key, we had a wedding to get to and didn’t want to be late but we had no choice as she said no one would be there when we come back. she would leave our key by our car (not professional at all). When we returned back in the evening the place was closed still and empty. We did not stay at the hotel, we walked into the room, only to find the door did not lock and the front door was open. Everywhere looked completely locked up, it was not what I was imagining from a hotel at all. It was a closed not Indian restaurant. NOT A HOTEL The fact we booked a room, which had no lock on the door is unsafe, especially when we had no idea who else was in the building. The front door was open so anyone from the street could walk in. There was no one at the hotel, or reception. The building looked completely run down. I left the keys on the reception desk. I took videos of the broken door and I am really disappointed. I was chargers £85 for a room which was unsafe, mis sold as a hotel room / hotel and restaurant when they were basically closed as a business and we did not sleep there. We had to sleep in the car in a lay by and then drive home, we came a 2 hour distance from where we live! I understood check in was 3pm, but it is shocking that we get to a hotel 30 minutes early to drop bags etc and the whole place looks closed down! This is complete miss representation They are refusing to give me a refund, complete fraud of a business! DO NOT RECOMMEND
