We have stayed here several times over the years while visiting family who spend their summers in South Fork in their RV. The Spruce Lodge offers accomodations similair to many others you find in the Rocky Mountains. It was new once, but it is now well used. This trip, the Cook's Cabin was the destination. The bed was decent. Now the rest: a room should not be filled with flies when a new person checks in, it may be quaint to be rustic, but names carved in the bath tub doesn't fit that definition. That two inch drop from the living room to the bedroom can be dangerous in the night. I know there are others who have written about this cabin being romantic, but that tub does not call out for a romantic soak. Overall. if you have stayed at mountain locations with some years behind them, you will probably find things here typical. If looking for a nice place your mom might enjoy, then look a little more.

Lodge has been nicely updated and while the rooms are small, it is more than adequate. Bathroom has been retrofitted; shower could be small for larger clients. We had no problem and the owners are very helpful!

Welcoming stay
This was a very clean, quaint, and comfortable room/facility. It was made very “personable and welcoming”, the owners were communicative, and the stay was very pleasant. I highly recommend this lodge and will stay again if in the area.
