Great National Ballykisteen Golf Hotel

Rooms are quiet and overlook the golf course (which is the USP for this hotel) with the Race Course just across the road. Rooms are spacious and offer a fridge and complimentary water. Beds are firm but there's multiple pillows to compensate. Wi-Fi signal is slow. Breakfast was disappointing with food not protected from flies and an empty jam dispenser.

We spent two nights at the Ballykisteen National and really enjoyed our stay. Unfortunately we didn’t play any golf nor did we avail of the fitness/health facilities but I have no doubt they would have been good. The hotel offers plenty of parking, has a large and comfortable reception with friendly, helpful staff who effortlessly checked us in (most of the work having already been done online). The room was modern, spacious, clean and comfortable with the usual facilities plus a safe, iron etc. although wi-Fi I a bit slow but we didn’t really care too much. The same applies for the en-suite bathroom, all clean and with soaps, shower gels etc. Breakfast offered a selection including multiple cooked dishes, cereal, fruits and breads plus the usual beverages - all good. We had a meal in the hotel bar which was very good and reasonably priced, plus you can dine inside or outside. Check out was equally simple and, as before the hard working staff were faultless. Thank you all! So! Even if you are not playing golf, this well located hotel is worth a visit.
