Design Hostel One

On arrival our room was not ready. When we were shown to our room the sheets on my bed were dirty. The top bunk was almost impossible to gain access to. The WiFi did not work. The reception was dirty with a woman’s thong left in the corner. I would not recommend this hostel.

This is second year in a row that I've been, staff were great and got me anything I needed! They were really helpful plus there was an Indian restaurant next door which I ate every night, I love Indian food! Thanks guys

Issue no 1: Check in was meant to be 2pm but when we arrived they told us our beds would not be ready until 4 pm. We were told we could put our stuff on our beds and in our rooms and that when we returned at 4 pm our room would be clean and our beds would have sheets/towels etc. when we returned at 4 pm our beds were still not ready and we were told that they would not be ready until 7pm, 5 hours after our original check in time. Issue no2: When we returned at 4pm all of the stuff that we had left on our beds had been taken, including valuables such as hairdryers and toiletries. When we inquired at reception staff were very unhelpful and we sat there for half an hour while staff “looked for our stuff” which they did not do. Eventually a very helpful girl went to lost and found and retrieved most of our stuff. Not everything was brought back. Issue no 3: Eventually when our room was ready it had been overbooked. I returned to a room which had no bed free or no locker for me to put my stuff in. When I went to reception to explain that the room I had booked and paid for had no bed or locker for me the receptionist (the same staff member who did not help us find our missing items ) simply replied “What’s the Problem…… ?”. Eventually another member of staff brought me to the room and moved two people to a different room and unlocked my locker so that I had somewhere to put my stuff and a bed to sleep. Issue no 4: The hostel was messy and unclean. Beds were extremely uncomfortable and rooms were very small. Top bunks we’re extremely hard to get in and out of. We had to carry one of our friends out of her top bunk every time she needed to get out. Overall, very poor experience in this hostel. There was no kitchen. The pictures on hostel world were completely inaccurate. There is no common area so hard to make friends like in other hostels. We did not feel safe or comfortable. Staff were rude and unhelpful and totally unapologetic for the many inconveniences that we had experienced. Honestly could not recommend this hostel less. And it was as expensive if not more than other hostels we had stayed in that were a dream compared to this one

L’hôtel paraît à l’abandon. Empilement de matériel dans les couloirs, escalators non fonctionnels, chambres plus que sommaires, pas très propres, tous les casiers cassés : délabrement général. Aucun accueil lors de notre arrivée, nous avons pris directement, tous seuls, les clés sur le comptoir. Le lendemain matin lors de notre départ un monsieur, apparement également en charge du bricolage de cette épave, nous a annoncé un prix en euros, nous a dit qu’il n’était possible de régler qu’en liquide et lors de la conversion en kuna a ajouté pratiquement 20€ au prix originel de la chambre…scandaleux.
