Lower Barns Guest House

Our wedding was held at Lower Barns on Friday 11th April. I stayed in Cranny Suite the night before with my daughter. The venue could have not looked any prettier. I was completely blown away with the decor and layout for our wedding and blessing. It just looked truly magical. The stay was delightful, the suite is amazing, quirky , colourful , bright , spotlessly clean and so many added extras. Janie and Mike are the most wonderful hosts their hospitality experience is just amazing. The wedding day was so much more than I could have ever dreamed off , it really felt like a fairy tale. Thank you so much Janie and Mike for making our Day so incredible.

Wow 🤩 we had the most perfect night away for my husbands birthday To say we were blown away with this place would be an understatement What clever people Janie & Mike are! The whole design of the place is truly magical and amazing attention to detail everywhere We stayed in the Nook - so quirky & beautiful designed We thoroughly enjoyed our own hot tub & sauna - such a tranquil stay & beautiful location Oh & the bed sooo comfy I didn’t want to get out! My boyfriend and I visited Lower Barns for a Valentine's weekend and also to celebrate our anniversary. From the moment we arrived we adored Nook. Mike was extremely welcoming and friendly. The room (which is far more than just a room) was incredible. In the bathroom there's a tub for two with a rainfall shower and toiletries, soft fluffy towels etc. The bed is huge and clad with the best quality cotton linen I've ever slept on. There are stunning quirky little touches everywhere. Comfy sofa with a Roku TV and a folder of local information. A SMEG fridge contained milk, orange juice, fruit and yoghurt, and a cute little box of chocolates. In the kitchen area there was a wider selection of tea and coffee than Sainsburys, along with cordials. Even the kettle was cool! The sauna and hot tub made a potentially chilly evening extremely enjoyable and these guys are right when they say there's no light pollution. Lying in the hot tub stargazing up at the clear Cornish sky was pure bliss. I've never felt so relaxed as I did leaving Lower Barns and will most definitely be returning. I've even taken their postcard adverts to distribute to colleagues and friends because everyone should know about this hidden gem of a place.

We cannot say enough nice things about this beautiful location and Janie and Mike. We travelled down with our two daughters for our wedding day and we could not have wished for a more wonderful, carefully thought out and magical day and stay at Lower Barns. Mike and Janie made us feel extremely welcome and went above and beyond to ensure that our day was everything we hoped for and more. The attention to detail was incredible and their expertise and experience in holding beautiful ceremonies made sure our day was filled with happiness and no stress at all. Everything from the location to the decorations, the food (so delicious!), the warm welcome, the beautifully designed rooms and party barn, the stunning pictures Mike took and the lovely, warm and caring ambience meant that we will treasure our day and memories forever. Thank you so much Janie and Mike.

Highly recommend this B&B, Lovely private room with outdoor area. We stayed an extra night as it was such a lovely place to stay, close to the Lost Gardens of Heligan and Megavissey. Hosts Mike and Janie were so welcoming, serving up delicious breakfasts and nothing was too much trouble..

Ho my Goodness what a Safe Haven of a place, I have lived in Cornwall all my life & never knew this idyllic & beautiful place existed, my friend was actually staying at Lower Barns & told me to come visit because she was actually in an accessible room , I myself am a power wheelchair 🦼 user and thought to myself “ um accessible “? But it ACTUALLY was , I honestly could stay their Independently , the accessible shower room , loo & sink were All accessible, the room big enough to manoeuvre my power wheelchair around and the actual bedroom was so lush with colours , the bed looked so comfy, the fridge was accessible has was the tv and furnishings, Outside was another Huge Smile bringer , I navigated around the extensive gardens taking in the beautiful blossom covered arches, Before I had to head back home leaving my friend to continue to self-heal in these lush & beautiful surroundings we sat had a cup of tea with tucked away in a peaceful corner of the sweet aroma smelling garden , even the short time I spent their I came away refreshed both in my Heart & Spirit from the Special-ness of Lower Barns .
