I recently stayed at the Hyatt Regency Malta from 22 to 28 May 2025, and it was by far the worst experience I’ve ever had at a Hyatt property.
On the first night, the sink was completely blocked, making basic hygiene difficult.
While showering late at night, the cover of the shower knob kept falling off, and the water temperature was uncontrollably hot. I was nearly burned for over an hour and had no choice but to wash my hair in the sink and wipe the soap off with a towel. This was not only unsafe but humiliating—completely unacceptable for a so-called 5-star hotel.
I reported the issue and was promised a full refund for one night by the hotel manager. However, I never received a confirmation email, and now, days later, no refund has been issued. When I asked about it at checkout, the staff simply said, “We are a 5-star hotel, we don’t lie”—yet here we are with no follow-up.
Room service was painfully slow. I had to wait over an hour just to get a laundry bag and a toothbrush. For a brand like Hyatt, this is embarrassing.
Communication and service were inconsistent and dismissive, with staff appearing indifferent to serious guest concerns.
I have stayed at several Hyatt Regency properties before and expected a level of professionalism and care. Sadly, Hyatt Regency Malta has failed to meet even the most basic standards of safety and service.
I strongly do not recommend staying here unless significant changes are made. Guests deserve better.
