The room was nice, clean and had all the basics. It also had a purified water faucet. The staff was very helpful. For example they allowed me to store some food in the kitchen fridge and warmed it up for me the next day. The Inn offered me a free transfert from the train station and I was welcomed. The breakfast was Chinese and plentiful. The facilities could be improved, as the kitchen and breakfast place are tiny within a store. The rooms are behind in an old house, which could benefit from some tidying up and refreshing . Overall, I was happy to stay there and would recommend it to people travelling on a small budget. There was no noise at night. The inn was located well.

Hotel is clean and comfortable. Customer Service is good and helpful. Breakfast is included. I arrived earlier and the room already prepared well. And so then they give me paper map for travel instruction, it is so easier for me to walk around in the old town. Hotel also have crossover with some famous restaurants (approx. 7 mins walk distance from hotel) for 10% discount. Bed is comfy and with aircon (cold or warm), I really have a good rest in the night.

One of the most beautiful hotel I’ve ever been in, located in the old town with a stunning courtyard. The owners were very kind and helpful and the rooms clean and beautiful. The only issue I would point out is the bad soundproofing.

The hotel is right in the middle of the ancient city, which is great for walking around. Keep in mind you will need to take your luggage from the west gate to the hotel by foot as the taxis can't enter and the hotel is in a pedestrian street. The rooms have a glass wall to the courtyard that lets you take in the views and you can draw the curtains close for more privacy. We had a corner room and it was very comfortable. Breakfast had few options, but it was very tasty. The bathroom needed a new curtain that didn't smell, but that is our only complaint and likely an oversight. All in all a great place to stay when visiting Pingyao ancient city.

We loved this hotel. It’s beautiful, clean and well-equipped. Location is also great. Mr and Mrs Lee have gone above and beyond with their service by picking us up from the train station and dropping us back. Breakfast was delicious! Thank you for your hospitality, you’ve made our time in Pingyao fantastic and memorable.

We had a fantastic stay. The hotel is situated in a beautiful traditional building with a large courtyard in a quiet street of the old city centre of Pingyao, close to the musea, temples and restaurants, Our room was large, beautifully furnished and had a functional modern bathroom. It was such a pleasure to relax and listen in the courtyard to the sounds of the birds. To make this place even nicer was the very welcoming and efficient staff, manager Alice - who speaks excellent English - and her two lovely colleagues. Highly recommended!

The service can be described as meticulous. The front desk staff was friendly and welcoming, and check-in and check-out were quick and efficient. Song Sheng Chang Inn is very cost-effective. Compared with inns of the same level, its price is more affordable. Complete facilities, automatic curtains, automatic toilet. The room price includes breakfast, which has a rich variety and tastes very good. Overall, Song Sheng Chang Inn left me a very good impression. Whether it was the environment, service or cost-effectiveness, it was all above the passing line. Next time I have the chance to visit Pingyao Ancient City, I will definitely choose here again. It is very convenient to live here. As soon as you leave the inn, you will see the most prosperous street in the ancient city, with a beautiful night view and many more famous attractions. The most famous ones are Yingxun Gate, Biaoju, Rishengchang, etc. The closest to the inn are very good. It is also very convenient to return to the inn when you are tired.

A very good experience The ancient city of Pingyao, a world intangible cultural heritage, has a house of Shanxi merchants for hundreds of years in the ancient city. It is a homestay in Yuhuai Pavilion, an 800-year-old ancient Huaixiangju, and a three-entry heritage compound of Shanxi merchants in the Ming and Qing Dynasties. It is more than 2,000 square meters. I stayed in a room that was very prosperous. It is close to the Xiaxi Gate of the ancient city, and is very convenient to the scenic spots in the core ancient city and the Pingyao Theater. I feel that this courtyard can be used for travel photography. It is very photogenic. The proprietress is an elegant lady in her 50s and 60s. She speaks fluent English with a very pure accent. Many foreigners stay here. The breakfast is quite rich, with yellow rice porridge. Oil tea, beef pie, two side dishes, bowl holder, steamed buns and eggs, I couldn't finish them at all. The boss lady also arranged for pick-up and drop-off in and out of the city, which was very considerate. Today, I met the boss lady's daughter and introduced that the yard was so big. She also recommended many hiking routes in Taiyuan.
