The location is good, close to many attractions. There is a stall selling durian and coconuts about 10-15 minutes away, where you can sit down and eat. The whole house is for our use. The owner does not live there, and there was no one there when we arrived. We had to contact the owner to get the password to get the key. This is recommended to be communicated in advance. The house has many beds, a washing machine, kitchen utensils, etc. However, the house is quite old, and the wall paint is peeling in some places. There are no exhaust fans in several bathrooms, which are relatively humid and moldy. Among the rooms on the second floor, the rooms near the front door have poor sound insulation. The cars passing by downstairs and the conversations of passers-by can be heard clearly. The rooms near the back door are relatively quiet.

Providing a balcony and sea views, the spacious apartment includes 1 bedroom, a living room, flat-screen TV, an equipped kitchen, and 2 bathrooms with a bidet and a bath. The accommodation is non-smoking.
A mini-market is available at the apartment.
A bicycle rental service is available at the apartment.

It was a pleasant stay and everything was satisfactory. It's very suitable for a family of 4 members. All necessary utensils are available, including a hairdryer and ironing facility. Both the hall and the master bedroom have air-conditioning.
Nevertheless, there are 3 nagging issues for the price of RM140 per night stay. They are
1. There is no daily housekeeping, and we have to clean it ourselves.
2. There is no suitable place to throw rubbish, and we have to bring it down 30 floors to dispose of it.
3. The security guard forgets our parking lot and needs a reminder every day.

Room rate was reasonable. With the paid room rate and the inroom facilities as well as breakfast, it was a worthed stay. Overall, it was a wonderful stay at this hotel. Check in process was speedy. The crew members offered warm and helpful service. You need to inform the reception for room cleaning on the next night stay.

There buffet spread consisted of sandwich, pudding, toast bread, slice fruit, vegetable salad, main course (nasi lemak or noodle soup, etc), egg, cereal, tea coffee, squash. The small boutique hotel is renovated from a historic building. Lobby looks fabulous. The staff are friendly and helpful. Check-in was fast with welcome drink. The room was comfortable and clean. Aircon is cold. The carpark is limited, first come first served.
Hotel closes to many attractions.
Our room was facing the front, opposite the food court and they have live music until 12 midnight.

Beautiful rooms, complete with a kitchen. There’s no breakfast buffet, just a convenient grab-and-go option. The hotel is in a good location if you have a car, but getting around is easy with Grab. Definitely planning to stay here again on my next trip to Penang!

The hotel is modern and very pretty! Love the decoration and design. It’s clean, the bed is comfortable (not the pillow) and I love the shower water pressure and the idea of having water dispenser for sustainability drive.
A few things that disappointed a little:
1. Was assigned to room 212 which is located close to lift, I barely slept on the first night. One group of guests walked pass ard 12:50am and were talking and laughing so loudly, followed by the loud door closing sound (no soft closing). Then another group came back around 1:45am and I woke up because of the loud door opening and closing sound (3 times)…the aircon was centralised and quite cold, tried adjusting to higher temperature with lower volume but the control parcel is useless. The pillow was not comfortable also, the cotton was not even, too high for my liking. Morning 8:45am the house keeping person tried accessing the store room and entered the wrong PIN code for a few times and the beeping sound was non stop and I woke up again :(
2. Thankfully we were changed to another room at level 3, I managed to sleep better for the 2nd and 3rd night. But when we came back on Day 3, I wanted to watch TV but the remote control was missing. We called the front desk for a few times but no answer around 11pm, had to go down and request for the remote control to be delivered to my room. Guess what, we waited for 15 mins but no one came, called again and finally the house keeping staff showed up after 5 mins. Then when we opened the door, he asked us multiple times that why it’s missing and even requested us to check drawers etc. we searched everywhere before we called, only being accused after waiting for 20 mins. Then waited another 5 mins for him to get a new one and came back. So speechless…
3. I like the free coffee service that they offer, however there’s no food options and no room service. Most of the nearby shops close early and it’s quite hard to find for food at night if you are hungry
4. Not all the staffs are very friendly, the lady receptionist that we encountered was not super friendly and helpful. She told me that when we came down, the replacement room would be ready but it’s not, I waited for another 5 mins standing there until she got everything sorted out. Felt that she was unwilling to help

Great
AAnonymous Userdecent sized room with gorgeous view, can see the mountain as well as the sea. Buildings nearby are very low, so you can see miles away. Professional staff especially at reception. They are carrying genuine smile and ready to assist. I would say they are more proactive than those five~star hotels i stayed in Penang and Langkwawi during this trip.
However i really wish staff at concierge (night shift) can be more cautious and careful when handling shipment including parcels delivered to the hotel. They could have checked the identity of the one who pick up the parcel instead of not validating and allow anyone to go over to the counter to pick up by themselves. in the end who will bear the responsibility if the parcel was lost?
JJohnson Ng.My second time with this hotel. The only issue I have with this hotel is its narrow ramps in the hotel parking. If your car is too big, you may need to be extra careful so as not to scrape the side of your car
I would like to suggest that the hotel sticks rubber at the side of the ramps so as to reduce the scrapping (damage) to the bigger cars.
TQ.
AAnonymous UserRoom is small but its totally okay to stay for sleep 1 or 2 nights and the air-conditioning is powerful. But please consider if you have more than one big luggages with you.
Downstairs are full of local food, 1st Avenue mall and Rainbow skywalk, The Top just a few minutes walking.
A room refurbishment is needed if the hotel wants to keep customer returning and attracting new markets. We found the shower was broken when first entered the room (After reported, the front desk sent technician within 5 minutes and fixed it, which responded quickly then we expected).
Moreover, the furniture are quite old, specially beware that cracked door frame and the bottom of walk corner, some damage parts and small chips may hurt small children.
NNurinBadI really enjoyed my stay at Hotel NEO+ Penang. The location is excellent—very convenient and close to many attractions. The breakfast was not bad at all, and I actually loved it. Overall, a comfortable stay with good value. Would definitely consider coming back!
DDonnacfleeNicely decorated resort. Very laid back. Extremely friendly and helpful staff that tried their very best to accommodate customer needs. I recommend that you ask for a room downstairs if you are staying in a family suite for four persons. This type of rooms are more spacious and have an outdoor seating area and direct access to the deck. Must also try the cafe, Biru Buru. Loved the atmosphere.
Cc.loRoom good size but would be much appreciated that there be another chair as there are 2 occupants booking.
The lighting could be better especially in the toilet, dim light for toilet is dangerous.
The TV is small for such a room size, further more very few channels only. The TV sound is poor.
Please also kindly look intohavibg hand held shower heads especially for shorter guests.
Very near food places...thumbs up.
Too many birds lurching at trees outside hotel, many bird droppings all over the pavement and walking path, need authorities to help rid of these birds.
LLilyfront desk is so friendly
i booking for deluxe suite king seaview, but give me corner room,so i request for upgrade to kiddie room, the staff is so good, upgrade free for me.tq
DDixon ThumI recently experienced a stay at Apple Hotel Penang, and it was a journey filled with both positives and drawbacks. Situated in the bustling heart of George Town, the hotel's location stands out as a significant advantage. It's within close proximity to key attractions like Penang Times Square, Rainbow Skywalk at Komtar, and 1st Avenue Penang, making exploration convenient and enjoyable.
The hotel offers free WiFi, but regrettably, the signal strength was notably weak during my visit. This may pose a challenge for guests relying heavily on a stable internet connection. Moreover, the availability of free parking, while a welcome feature, comes with a catch—it's extremely limited. Securing a spot can be a bit of a hassle, particularly during peak times.
In terms of accommodations, the rooms at Apple Hotel Penang provide basic amenities, including a flat-screen TV, air conditioning, and a private bathroom with complimentary toiletries. However, the cleanliness fell short of expectations, and the overall condition of the rooms didn't meet the standards for a truly comfortable stay. There were dust webs around little corners. While suitable for a brief visit of one or two nights, an extended stay might not be advisable based on my experience.
On a positive note, the 24-hour front desk service was commendable, ensuring assistance was readily available whenever needed. Additionally, the option to engage in a game of pool added a touch of entertainment to the overall stay.
Summing up my personal experience, Apple Hotel Penang offers a budget-friendly option in an unbeatable location. However, guests should be aware of the limitations in terms of cleanliness, weak WiFi, and limited parking. It's a matter of weighing the pros and cons based on individual priorities and preferences. If you prioritize a clean and comfortable environment, exploring alternative options in the area might be worthwhile.
YYour Asian Travel BuddyNo-Frills Budget Stay – Perfect for Street Food Lovers!
If you're looking for a cheap, well-located crash pad in the heart of Georgetown’s food paradise, Kimberley Hotel gets the job done—just don’t expect luxury.
The Good:
✔ Prime Location – Right next to the night market and within walking distance to famous street food spots (e.g., Kimberley Street Koay Teow Th'ng, Lebuh Chulia hawkers). A dream for foodies!
✔ Budget-Friendly – Fair price for the convenience. You’re paying for the location, not the frills.
✔ Basic Cleanliness – Rooms are tidy enough for a short stay (no glaring hygiene issues).
The Not-So-Good:
❌ Dated & Worn – Furniture feels like it’s from the early 2000s, and the decor is tired. Bring your own toiletries—the provided ones are minimal.
❌ No Real Facilities – No gym, pool, or breakfast. Just a barebones lobby and elevator.
❌ Noise Potential – Rooms are not well-insulated and therefore, can hear noises periodically from outside the room.
Final Verdict:
A decent budget option if you just need a clean bed and a great food crawl outside your door. Not for those seeking comfort or style—but for street food pilgrims, it’s a practical pick.
Book just for sleeping—spend your time (and money) eating through Georgetown instead! 🍜🍢

TTan “陈时勉” See MinI have always been staying at this hotel which has ample parking spaces and close proximity to great local food. This year I managed to get it from Trip.com and being Chinese New Year, this hotel truly made my stay very memorable. There’s a great Bar at the roof that provides a nice view of the entire surrounding areas and witnessing Fireworks from a distance far.
