Greenwoods Hotel & Spa

I’m going to post below the e-mail that I sent to Greenwoods customer services two weeks ago. I then sent it to a different e-mail address a week ago and was told it had been forwarded to customer services. I haven’t had a response. Good morning, I brought my friend to Greenwoods yesterday (20th June) for the Heavenly Retreat package (we stayed in Room 30) as a 30th birthday present, and overall, we had a really lovely time. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, the food was excellent, and we thoroughly enjoyed the spa and gym facilities. Unfortunately, our experience was significantly affected by the wedding event taking place. The music went on until midnight, and guests returned to their rooms around 12:30 a.m.—which, while understandable, wasn’t quite what we expected from a relaxing spa getaway. More concerningly, we were woken again at 2 a.m. by shouting in the corridor, and then at 4 a.m. by someone aggressively banging on a neighboring door and shouting to be let in. We attempted to call reception at that point as the situation felt quite alarming, but unfortunately, no one answered. We were unable to get back to sleep afterwards. I do appreciate that guest behavior isn’t always within your control. However, had I known there was a wedding scheduled that night, I likely would have chosen a different date. When we mentioned this to your receptionist in the morning, we were told that “people can be loud when they’re drunk,” which, while true, didn’t fully acknowledge the impact this had on our stay. I didn’t want to raise this during our visit and risk spoiling the occasion for my friend, but given the cost of the package and the fact that neither of us got a proper night’s sleep, I do feel a partial refund would be a fair resolution. My friend and I stayed at Greenwoods Spa hotel for a 2 night stay at the beginning of July. We had a lovely time, the spa was clean and not too busy with plenty of beds available inside and out. We enjoyed a 3 course meal in Ella’s restaurant on our first night, which was delicious with great service. Breakfast was good with plenty of choices. We both enjoyed a very relaxing 50 minute full body massage from Hannah and Pascal. We will definitely be back, excellent service during our stay!

So we arrived last Thursday and stayed for 2 nights in the attic suite. As lovely as the weather was it did make the room around 38 degrees with no windows open on arrival. Staff were all very helpful especially Jeremiah for arranging another fan for our room and also helping us up with our luggage along with the another male member of staff. On the big day of my mums wedding everything went really well although the tables and chairs outside on the terrace could of done with a clean from bird poo everything else was perfect. The reception in the evening was a brilliant night. Massive thank you to Geben for helping with all of my requests along with every other member of staff, so thank you; Jeremiah, Lily, Jess, Rachel, Lucy, Itai, Jack, Emmanuel & Pete. See you all when we stay again sometime!

THE BEST HOTEL WE HAVE STAYED AT IN A LONG TIME STAFF WHERE VERY FRIENDLY FOOD WAS AMAZING WOULD RECOMEND THIS HOTEL FOR FUTURE VISITS

We have been going to Greenwoods for almost 10 years on a regular spa weekend and I’ve noticed in that time its decline but none more so than this past weekend. The rooms themselves are tired we had fixtures broken from the walls and the restaurant food is overpriced. My friend had terrible food poisoning and we were all up looking after her through the night, after bouts of sickness and an upset stomach. We all had the same food except she had prawns as a starter which we had presumed was the problem. On mentioning to the reception the following morning they were rude and dismissive saying that there was no proof it was the prawns. One particular lady was quite rude and didn’t even feel the need to mention it to the kitchen. From a health and safety perspective it is her duty to, so it might be that we are best to speak to the local council about it. We were very polite and only requested that the £5 supplement for the prawns be removed from our bill we didn’t ask for anything more. They refused. My friend was still feeling so poorly we didn’t want to argue and unfortunately we all left feeling far worse than when we had arrived. They need to do a total overhaul on the restaurant and the service whilst updating the decor if they want to continue to charge the prices that they do. We cannot speak for the spa treatments because we couldn’t get into the spa despite trying to book appointments a month before. Needless to say that is the last time we will be going back.

My husband and I booked the Sunday overnight Spa deal for our anniversary and had a lovely time. The booking process was easy and the couple of questions I had were dealt with via email quickly and efficiently. On arrival at the hotel the receptionist was most helpful and congratulated us on our anniversary. We opted to have our lunch at 1pm an hour before our room was available, this wasn’t a problem. The Sunday lunch was amazing, after 3 courses we were absolutely stuffed, the complimentary brownies with ‘Happy Anniversary’ on the plate were a welcomed surprise that the lovely staff boxed up so we could take them to our room for later. The spa was great, nice sized pool, jacuzzi was relaxing and steam room was nice. We had a 20min back massage which was great, just an all round enjoyable experience with friendly helpful staff. Breakfast the next day was really nice, plenty to chose from with a good choice of cooked breakfast available, cereals, fresh fruit & juices. Again we ate so much but because of the 11am checkout time we took the opportunity to walk the well kept grounds of this beautiful hotel. We had a great time and would definitely return again Thank you
