Green Mountain Inn

The room we were put in was a decent room, clean but the air conditioner did not work well. It only blew cool air, not cold. I read in previous reviews someone else had the same problem. Not sure if it was the same room or not. After complaining the next morning they had a worker confirm what I had said. Nothing got fixed but they did move me to a different room, a nicer one, in which the AC was working properly. The staff is very friendly. The grounds are large and spread out. I found the stairs to drag luggage to be very inconvenient. The fire pits are a nice touch to relax by and well maintained. Overall a decent visit.

I have dined at Green Mountain Inn many times in the past 55 years. My and my husband's favorite meal was The Star, a fresh turkey sandwich with crisp bacon, lettuce on homemade oatmeal bread. We have also brought family and friends to dine there and everyone loved The Star. We spend one or two weeks a year in Stowe enjoying the fresh air and always, Green Mountain Inn. We arrived for our 6 pm reservation and were seated outdoors on a balmy evening and were told that there was NO STAR AVAILABLE! We were both so surprised we asked our server to repeat it. This was always such a wonderful treat and while the priced increased every year, we were always quite happy to enjoy our absolute favorite food in Stowe. Please bring it back. I heard other diners were just as disappointed as we were too.

The room was very nice and the common areas were well maintained. If they give you a room in the Manchester building there is a rather large staircase and no elevator and no offer of bell service. It is right in the center of Stowe village so very convenient to get torestaurants,

My family of 5 just stayed at The Green Mountain Inn for 5 nights. We all loved it! I found it on TripAdvisor and saw the excellent reviews from previous guests. Book directly with them because they often have specials with some discounts. It was our first time to Stowe, VT and it was a fabulous location. It is right in town so it is close to the cute shops, Butler's Pantry for breakfast, and the recreation path (for biking or walking) is across the street. We checked in and Erik helped us with our rooms and gave us a map of the resort, a map of the town, and also pinpointed some activity locations that we were interested in. We had booked two rooms for our party and decided on luxury suites. My adult children had a king suite that also had a bedroom with two twin beds. Our room had a king bed and a separate living area. My husband and I both agreed that the accommodations were incredibly comfortable - everything is decorated very well, furnishings are new and the room/hallway/entire resort is clean and updated. You can tell that there is a lot of effort and care put into this place! Unfortunately, we did not get a chance to eat at the restaurant, but we did stop at the bar for a drink and the restaurant, The Whip, was doing very well. We will eat here next time. We used the outdoor pool a few times; it was lovely and had lots of lounges and tables/chairs. It also had an outdoor bar for drinks. The inn also gave out cookies/tea/lemonade from 4-5 each afternoon. When we checked out, I told the man at the front desk that we loved our stay and will return; he gave us a discount card to use for returning guests, such a lovely touch! Some of the restaurants we went to and loved: Butler's Pantry, Idletyme Brewery, Von Trapp Bierhall, Michael's on the Hill, Piecasso, and Harrison's. Book the Green Mountain Inn, you will not be sorry!

I’m currently staying at the Green Mountain Inn in Stowe. It’s in a cute location in town and has parking, restaurants and a nice pool. My particular room has a balcony overlooking the pool which is nice as well. And when I checked in the young man working was very detailed in helping me plan my afternoon. But I am only giving this hotel 3/5 because my room is a bit outdated and the room is quite musty and the air conditioner doesn’t seem that cold, so it’s made my room a bit uncomfortable. Also the door is hard to open and close and some random person walked in my room when I was in the bathroom. The dinner restaurant could have been wonderful, but the hostess was kind of rude when I asked to sit outside. She came up with like three different excuses for why she couldn’t seat me outside and then when we went out there every table except three were empty. She claimed they were all reserved (I ate at 5 pm and was out of there by 6 pm), but when I came back to my room (and my balcony stared at the restaurant’s outdoor seating), there were empty tables all night - so not sure what her deal was - but it wasn’t a positive experience given how light tourism is in Stowe at the moment. Hope others have a better experience! I was going to add onto my stay an extra night, but now, I am ready to leave.

Welcoming staff, great room, great location. Got a beautiful two-room suite for an anniversary getaway, and staff (Rye) was thoughtful and personalized in greeting us on arrival. Loved the location. Pool and jacuzzi were great after active day. Whip was excellent for dinner, and close proximity to rec path and local spots made everything easy! Highly recommend!
