Strathcarron Hotel

I stayed in the hotel for 5 nights through work and found the hotel to be everything I need hoped for Richard & Becca are absolutely fantastic hosts and their staff is very friendly and chatty. The food is all home made and you would not be disappointed with anything from there menu. The hotel itself sits just next to a road and the railway station is 1 a minute walk but you would never know you were close to either as the hotel room windows are very well insulated so a perfect night’s sleep will definitely not be a problem. There’s plenty parking right outside the hotel. The room I was in was a single room but had more than enough room for a single person. The shower was perfect plenty pressure and plenty hot water. I have stayed in literally 100s of hotels over the years with my work and this one is right up there with some of the best I have stayed in. Something I don’t normally do is to recommend a place but I will definitely recommend this one. A big thanks to everyone at the Strathcarron hotel.

I arrived with two friends having spent six days walking on the Cape Wrath Trail. We were met by Richard and offered a camping spot outside of the hotel and access to a shower for £10. The food and drink was excellent and just what we needed after a few days in the hills. I would definitely recommend this place to others.

Il posto e molto caratteristico, a circa mezz'ora dallo skye Bridge. Personale molto cordiale e disponibile, Richard e i suoi ragazzi sono molto simpatici ed io sono capitato anche in una delle sere dove dopo la cena fanno anche un pò di musica dal vivo per movimentare la situazione. Unica nota, non fondamentale, nella camera dove ero io la Wifi era completamente morta.

Un moment parfait dans cet hôtel, nous avons dormi manger et pris le petit déjeuner. Nous viendrons toujours ici lors de notre prochaine visite en Écosse.

I came across this haven after a long day of travelling. The weather had come in hard and I needed a place for the night. What a place to stumble across. In the middle of what felt like nowhere, and yet I instantly felt at home. Somehow ended up in the pub with an Australian, a Scotsman, an American, a Basque couple, and a group from Lebanon. It felt like a UN meeting, just with fewer arguments and a lot more pints. I'd recommend stopping to anyone travelling through. Great place and great people. Thank you Richard, Becca and Moony. Lovely welcome, great people, good food and beautiful location. Felt right at home straight away. Sociable bar with local beers not available anywhere else - particularly like the Golden Cow ale from Strathcarron Brewery. Useful tips for local spots to visit from the owner. Like a present day coaching inn. We'll definitely stay again next time we're in the area. Loved it. Fab.
