We had to wait a while to check in, the only member of staff on duty was also serving in the bar. In fact there was never anyone on the reception desk. However, our room was very nice, clean and comfortable. There was plenty of choice at breakfast and staff were welcoming. The restaurant was not open, instead we used the excellent Chinese takeaway just two doors from the hotel.

We stated in a twin room here . The establishment is dated , although the room , towels & linen were good . Excellent breakfast incl porridge & wide selection . Staff friendly . Adjoining bar was enjoyable, especially the trad music -one night . Great location for Bus& Boat trips .

Good location in the centre of Stromness, OK for a short stopover, no meals on site but some availability at the partner Ferry Inn just along the road. Fairly limited eating places in the area.

This was the nicest hotel we’ve stayed in so far!!! Looks like they just renovated. They recommended well in advance that dinner reservations should be made and the best place to park the vehicle. 5 big stars!!!

Lovely comfortable room, great breakfasts, just a short walk from ferry and bus terminal. I was always too late booking the Ferry Inn for an evening meal, but there is a big Co-op just along the road where you can get salads and sandwiches. I would definitely stay here again.

Great place for our short visit to the Orkneys! Very close to the ferry service, easy overnight parking, very close to most of the Neolithic sites we wanted to see, and great breakfast each morning.
