Pensiunea Poiana de Vis

We were welcomed by our wonderfully friendly hosts, living in a traditional three-generational family household, offering the (customary) home-dustilled plum brandy as a welcome drink. The setting is to die for: a large, very green grassy meadow in front of the house, bordered by a forest gives the place an almost magical fairytale atmosphere. Driving us tired walkers the few km to Sucevita Monastery was a nice and well-appreciated touch after a long days' hike from Putna. The comfortable rooms were very clean and the wooden finish made for a very cosy atmosphere. Meals were not provided, but this was probably due to some extension work going on temporarily "undermining" the kitchen. The hosts shared some of their entrepreneurial ideas with us, which, we believe will make an already great place even better in the future.
