Helena Park - Ultra All Inclusive

Not sure where to start. On arrival the room we requested with walk in shower they knew nothing about, the room we was allocated had a noisy view of a main road, the shower was in assessable for my wife the step into the shower was 27 inches over the bath with no grab rail for help and safety, there was no bath mat to stop you from slipping. Had to wait 2 days before aa move which meant living out of a suitcase and my wife having a shower around the pool as her disability prevented her from safely entering the room shower even with help from myself. Lots of people complaining about this and one lady had a nasty fall from the shower which meant she spent her holiday in pain and a sling. Health and safety may be different in Bulgaria but the Holiday company Jet2 should not be using this hotel never mind rating it four star plus. Getting to the pick up transfer was horrendous, had to cross a busy road with suitcases to be picked up for the airport return. The evening entertainment was a complete joke for an all inclusive holiday, the animation team that did the kids entertainment during the day where left to do the evening entertainment. This consisted of nothing more than children's parlour games there was not one live act during our two week stay which is appalling for a so called four star plus hotel. Most people went out in the evening looking for entertainment in the local bars as the hotel had non at all. The staff and cleaners where exceptional barring the reception team who really didn't care and where very arrogant. Four star pus never 2 and a half rating just.

Chose this Hotel based on reviews & price, we were not let down. The hotel's atmosphere is wonderfully relaxed & is spotlessly clean. The staff work tirelessly & do everything they can to make your stay pleasurable. It is in the quieter north of the resort & is a pleasant 20/30 mins stroll, along the promenade, to the livelier centre. We would gladly return to this hotel & would highly recommend it to friends & family.

The hotel wasn't as dated as I thought it would be.The rooms were fab and the bed was so comfortable.The view from our balcony wasn't great,it was out onto the road and grass was overgrown at the pavements.The grounds of the hotel are amazing and kept very well. There definitely isn't enough sunbeds or tables and chairs outside the bar area. I would say that the one main downfall was lack of a wc outside. If you had a mobility issue of any kind the baths are way too high and I don't know if walk in showers are available. Having said all of this we had a great holiday.

Very nice property however very dated and showing signs of wear and tear with less then Upto standard facilities for the star rating

Day one we asked to move as the room we got had no air con, no wifi and was right next a busy main road.. the so called mini bar was a small fridge with 2 cans of drink 2 bottles of water and 2 cartons of drink for kids.. we did get moved to a twin room which is bigger and quieter and due to it being on the ground floor the wifi actually worked.. the entertainment is poor of a night time.. so far a music quiz, bingo and on night 3 we walked out as was supposed to be disco but 15 minutes into it still no one.. the reviews said about dance troops but looking at the area i cant see how that is going to happen with such a small stage area.. food is ok and the pool area is passable but looks like a 90's crazy paving area that needs updating.. the decor is ok and passable.. jeep safari was amazing and have other trips booked.. for an all inclusive holiday you should not need to leave your hotel to find your own entertainment.. we have been using TUI for over 10 years and this has to be an all time low.. never a 4star hotel in a million years.. the newer hotel next door looks amazing but we can only use the spa and indoor pool but they can come to ours for what ever they want.. not suitable for families with young children as no kids food area.. not sure what TUI rep says this was 4 star needs to go to Specsavers.. only plus is the staff are very polite and helpful..

This was our first stay in Bulgaria and we will come back. The hotel is a little dated, but it’s spotlessly clean. As we came right at the beginning of the season, the hotel was quiet. The Animation team are great and work tirelessly to keep everyone entertained, they work really hard!! Our room was bright, spacious and comfortable and the food was really nice. Plenty of sun beds around the pool (which is absolutely freezing!!) We used the indoor pool next door a few times which was warmer, but really small. Helena Park is ideally situated at the quiet end of Sunny Beach, but it’s easy to walk to the busy end if that’s what you like. All in all, I would stay here again!
