Genesis Apartments by Gold Coast Premium

My family booked a 3 bedroom apartment with ocean views. The views were amazing and the location is also great. But whatever you do, do not stay in apartment 46 … the owners must have spent nothing on maintenance and upgrades for the past 20 years. There were 4 split system air conditioners in the apartment and they were all broken … due to the heat ithe apartment was unliveable. This was our main gripe but there were plenty of other examples of poor/old amenities (eg a TV that was so old that you could barely watch it). I find it so irresponsible (and greedy) for an owner to rent out an apartment in the middle of summer knowing full well that all the cooling was broken and to not even mention anything to us before we turned up. Our holiday which we booked 6 months in advance would have been ruined if we didn’t scramble and find alternative accomodation. I’m still quite upset about it. If I was another owner at Genesis, I’d be annoyed that the owner of apartment 46 is damaging the Genesis brand. Anyway after a night of almost no sleep as it was too hot, we transferred to a different apartment at Genesis for a few nights and it was great … well maintained and had decent air conditioning! We then moved to a completely different hotel for a few nights (similar price) which was also great. So I guess it’s luck of the draw which room you get at Genesis. Massive difference between the best and the worst … and the worst is holiday wrecker. Finally a shout out to the hotel manager who we thought was great … he was easy to deal with and tried his best to help us after our horrible first night.

Property and apartment was outdated. The apartment I stayed in needed a lot of maintenance. The bedding was old and torn and was given an old doona with rips in it without even a cover. Would never stay there again unless stay in a different apartment

Great stay Loved the room, such an excellent vibe with the furnishings, made ot feel very homely. Beach views was geeat and fantastic location.

Great location The apartments are in a great location to Surfer's Paradise. The shopping centre and restaurants are close by and the beach is also only a short walk away. Although spotlessly clean, the apartments are looking a bit tired & in need of small repairs. Nothing that interferes with an enjoyable stay but would make staying there even more enjoyable. Reception staff were friendly & helpful. It was too cold to use to the pool so didn't use it but that area was also neat & tidy. It has excellent views of the beach. I would definitely stay there again.

Apartment was a great size and staff were nice. Downsides, apartment needed some repairs as doors don’t close or open, no tvs in room and the single tv very outdated and remote broken. Very minimal extra costs spent could really freshen up and make it more modern
