Berry Patch Bed and Breakfast

I have never felt so unwelcome at a B&B, and I've stayed at lots! Made the two night reservation online, got an emailed response that said nothing about checkin time or what to do (house has multiple entrances and parking areas) when you get there. I had to inquire. I arrived at the 4:00 earliest checkin time to find out the room I'd reserved had been given to a couple who checked in before me "because they do AirB&B also". I was given a "free upgrade" to a room that was a honeymoon suite type room. An unkind thing to do to a widow, or any single woman?? Lighting was too dim to read till I dragged a chair to under the chandelier. I wasn't shown how the heat worked. The room was on the lower level and dampish. I figured it out (electric fireplace with the controls in a cupboard). The very worst thing was the shower drain was partially clogged. I had to exit right after washing my hair and I don't take long showers or I would have flooded the floor. They did NOTHING about it and the same thing happened on morning #2. I don't know who the woman was who was in charge as she never introduced herself. Breakfast was good, but not for anyone watching their weight or cholesterol.

They canceled my reservation that I made 4 months in advance due to “unforeseen circumstances”. Horrible business practices. They sent an email 2 weeks before our stay and now we have no where to stay. They made no effort to find alternative lodgings for us.

Lovely country farm setting. Very clean. Delicious breakfast . We got a personalized tour from the 7 year old boy who lives there, he knew everything about everything that goes with living in a farm. The porch sits high up so you have a lovely view while enjoying breakfast

Great place to stay for a quiet getaway off the beaten path! Karen is a wonderful host. Breakfasts were delicious! Massages were a key addition to our relaxing weekend away from the kids! She is a woman of many talents….. Highly Recommend!

My wife and I stayed at The BerryPatch early in June. The inn is so beautiful and sits back off a beautiful plot of land. The Inn and the rooms are very well maintained. The breakfast was very good, great service and have the choice of eating in your room, the dining room or on the main deck. The area offers so much to do and so much to see and you don't even have to leave the property to get a beautiful scenery for the Inn creates a beautiful escape from reality. Thank you to The BerryPatch! We will be back!!

We were greeted by the owner's son (couldn't be more than 8 or 10) who welcomed us, led us to the main door, and stepped aside so we could enter. Once inside, he suggested we have a seat on the comfy sofa and his Mom would be right out. Karen was charming, accommodating and took us to our room. Freshly baked brownies that melted in our mouths were on the dresser. We were in the By the Sea which got us in the mind of the Caribbean. We loved the decorations as we are frequent cruisers on it and were leaving on one the following week, Only negative was, the bed was too soft for us and the tv was too small and far away from seating. Breakfast was scrumptious both mornings. Karen is a massage therapist and both of us took advantage of that. Wonderful and reasonable. If you go to Berry Patch - get one, really prepared us for the next work week. Loved it so much, we rebooked for June 2 weekend. Karen was away on a cruise but her Mom, Fran, showed us where Karen got her Hostess skills. This time we stayed in the White Tail suite. My partner Curt is an outdoorsman and enjoyed the decor very much. Breakfast was as lovely as Karen's, and Fran is just as charming along with Rhonda who served our breakfast out on the deck on a lovely sunny morning. After breakfast, we moved to a table vacated by another guest to play our favorite game. The breeze was just right, and not too sunny. Relaxing and enjoyable til we left to visit friends in the area! Again, the only complaint was tv too small to see and hear from across the room. We like to catch the news in the morning and Curt needs the noise to fall asleep. But these small issues will not stop us from going back. We are booked for the Fourth of July (our post-birthday weekend) and this week we also booked 4 rooms for the kids and grandkids for the annual trip to Hershey for lights and Park the first week in December. For a lovely relaxing weekend, we highly recommend it.
