Bloomestate Swellendam

Even though we arrived 2 hours late, we were warmly welcomed by Chere. She was waiting for us on the drive and showed us round the house and garden. While we were stuck in traffic jam, she had contacted all the restaurants in town to see where we could still go for dinner. She gave us the options upon arrival and called the restaurant herself to make sure we’d still get in. The room and ensuite bathroom were very neat, the interior is very stylishly decorated and we had everything we could wish for (drinks and a snack in the fridge, …). The room is situated in a beautiful and large garden with lots of flowers, there’s a swimming pool and a separate building for all sorts of leisure activities. We enjoyed a very nice and cosy breakfast in a stylish dining room, where we were sitting near the fire. Breakfast consisted of a variety of homemade products, a buffet of cheeses, meat, salmon, different sorts of bread, croissants, eggs, yoghurt, (homemade) cerials, …! Bloomestate is an ideal stay if you can enjoy a quiet stay surrounded by nature. ❤️

Wee stayed 2 nights and are so pleased we did. Calvin and Chere have created the most wonderful place. The attention to detail is phenomenal they have considered every aspect of the guest experience and yet it’s done with such a light touch that you feel relaxed and comfortable. The suites are light and spacious with great decor, the bathroom too. Each one has lovely views across the gardens or up to the mountain. They welcome you with genuine warmth and offer good advice and recommendations. Breakfast - well you couldn’t get better anywhere because the ingredients are of such quality - including the very best seedy bread, jams from the fruit trees, delicious light sweet or savoury pastries, (wouldn’t be out of place in a high end afternoon tea) the largest selection of teas and freshly cooked hot dishes served in a light filled room overlooking the gardens. It’s a beautiful oasis on the edge of town surrounded by trees and full of birds - it is so tranquil. We stayed here to hike in Marloth Nature Reserve - stunning views and streams. If you are passing through Swellendam this way - stop and stay - it’s a very very classy place!! They deserve to be very successful.

We travel to Cape Town often and discovered this absolute wonderful 5star gem in Swellendam, BLOOMESTATE. Everything about this accommodation is excellent. The rooms is beautifully decorated, the bedding of the very best, and the breakfast delicious. Chere always goes out of her way to make us feel welcome! We can definitely recommend BLOOMESTATE, THE VERY VERY BEST in Swellendam for we stayed in many other places but BLOOMESTATE ACCOMMIDATION is NR.1. Kind regards Basil e Delma Ross

We had a wonderful stay at Bloom Estate. Highly recommend !! It is the perfect location for a family holiday and great value. We loved the pool and the orchard, and we appreciated the spacious and well-equipped room. We thoroughly enjoyed our breakfasts. The detail Chere and her team puts into it is amazing! Calvin and Chere are exceptional hosts, and the staff was incredibly helpful and friendly. They all went out of their way to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. We would definitely stay here again. We made some amazing memories!

Sadly we only stopped for one night at Bloomestate but would have loved to have stayed longer. We were greeted upon arrival by Chere and shown to their themed rooms overlooking the pool - we chose the blue room. The rooms are very spacious with everything you need for a comfortable stay and the en-suite bathroom was large with walk in shower, a seperate bath with colour coordinated bath salts. The swimming pool is salt water and a good size. Breakfast was freshly cooked and one of the best we came across on our 9 day drive of the Garden Route. Chere was very obliging and arranged a local taxi for us to a nearby restaurant and when we discovered we had left some items in the room behind she very kindly liaised and posted them onto us to collect at our final stop. We travelled with four friends and we all decided if we ever return we will definitely rebook at Bloomestate and will recommend to friends who may drive the Garden Route.

This is a very special place. The hosts are a lovely warm hospitable couple who have planned everything with great thought and and fine eye for quality and detail. The whole property is spacious and serene. The rooms and bathrooms spacious and beautifully styled. The breakfasts are amazing - a huge choice of specialist teas, homemade granola, preserves and pastries, cheeses, the most fantastic seedy bread! And a great range of very tasty well cooked hot options. All served in a light and airy sunny room overlooking the gardens. The pool is perfect with sufficient loungers for all the rooms spaced for maximum privacy. The grounds are very secluded and private, with lovely trees, shrubs and water features attracting a myriad of birdlife. It is a lovely lovely place.
