Our visit to Pursell Farms for my father's 90th birthday was bittersweet. The sweetness was certainly the time together as a family, the beautiful location and accommodations and the wonderful staff. The bitterness was the food – a complete and utter disappointment that nearly ruined this special occasion. I hardly know where to begin to describe it: French onion soup which was inedible because it was so salty. A strawberry salad that was a mound of nothing but arugula as the base. A chopped cheese sandwich which was so tough it cut the rough of my mouth. Desserts for Easter Brunch that never arrived. Wines listed on the menu that weren't available and no Pinot Noir at all on the property and I could go on. It's a beautiful place, especially if you love golf, but unless they have changed the chef, don't go and waste your money. Take your own food or plan to eat out.
