Staying at Palazzo Santa Maria during its soft opening was honestly unforgettable. Not because I was invited — but because everything was truly beyond expectations. The building has been beautifully brought back to life, with a deep sense of history and character. Restored frescoes, carefully selected period furniture, and a refined atmosphere make you feel like you're stepping into a timeless retreat — yet everything feels fresh, comfortable, and up to date. Each room is unique in colour and style, and full of thoughtful details that delight a luxury traveller: elegant furnishings, spacious bathrooms with high ceilings, crystal Lalique lamps, and porcelain sinks in period style. Slipping into bed with crisp linens and sleeping on a heavenly Simmons mattress was pure bliss. Add to that plush towels, top-tier bathroom amenities, and a quiet, discreetly hidden AC that preserves both comfort and aesthetics — simply perfect. It’s the little things, too, that make all the difference — a warm welcome treat, a coffee machine in the room, and practical touches like an ironing board tucked neatly away in the closet. It’s clear this place was created by someone who truly understands what makes a stay feel special. The lady running the hotel was absolutely lovely — warm, helpful, and effortlessly professional. If you're heading to Syros and appreciate places that are charming, historic, discreetly luxurious, and deeply pampering, don’t miss this one. A real gem — and one I can’t wait to return to.

Δεν χρειάζεται παρά να χτυπήσεις το χρυσαφένιο μάνταλο που θα σου ανοίξει την πόρτα στην πιο υπέροχη έκπληξη. Ένας θεός Ερμής σε καλοδέχεται χαμογελαστός και μετά οι υπέροχες εκπλήξεις ακολουθούν.Το κλασικό σμίγει με το σύγχρονο, οι τοιχογραφίες σε πάνε σε μια άλλη αληθινή εποχή. Το μεράκι και η καλαισθησία σμίγουν με το σύγχρονο για να δώσουν μια ανεπανάληπτη αρχοντιά. Κάθε λεπτομέρεια στα δωμάτια στα έπιπλα στην εξυπηρέτηση δείχνουν τον κόπο την αγάπη και το μεράκι του ξενοδόχου κυρίου Ν. Ρούσσος οποίος εκτός που σε υποδέχεται, είναι και ένας καταπληκτικός ξεναγός. Και όλα αυτά 10 λεπτά από την Ερμούπολη με τα πόδια. Πανέμορφο νησί η Σύρος. Cette maison de maître de 1874 est absolument sublime. Elle a été rénovée et meublée avec soin. Les fresques d'origine sont également très belles. J'ai été très bien accueillie par le gérant de l'hôtel qui m'a très gentiment fait un tour du complexe. Les chambres sont spacieuses, la salle de bain agréable et élégante. Les produits mis à disposition d'une très bonne qualité. Le petit-déjeuner était parfait avec un gâteau à l'orange à tomber! Je recommande vivement cet hôtel qui vous plonge dans l'histoire de Syros. A quelques pas du centre d'Ermoupouli, l'hôtel est très bien situé.
