Hotel Takachiho Reviews

Hotel in good location if you plan to go the famous Takachiho Gorge, they have plubic onsen in the hotel view from room also very nice. Good time to spent your holiday here.

The room is a bit hot as air conditioning cannot be on as outside temperature is 17 degree. Location is good and parking is convenient.

Like this hotel. Lobby is bright and inviting. The japanese style room is cosy and really clean. Breakfast spread was good. Receptionist is able to speak English and was very helpful when recommending the restaurants nearby.

Great location, very near Takachiho Gotge. Room was a little small, but we could manage for one night. En-suite was very small.

At a great location very near to the gorge and walking distance to the restaurants and shops. Staff was very helpful and cheerful. Onsen was a bonus.

Excellent place and location

The hotel is in a very good location, very close to Takachiho Gorge, with a large parking lot. The two counter staff I met were both foreigners, and there was no problem communicating in simple English. This time I stayed in a Japanese-style tatami room, which was very large and required me to make my own bed. It had all the necessary facilities, and there were yukatas and handbags for going to the bathhouse next to the elevator. The snacks and tea provided were delicious, and the view from the balcony was beautiful. Overall it was pretty good, but please note that there is nothing to eat nearby after about 6 or 7 o'clock. The hotel has a restaurant until 7 or 7:30, and room service is available until 7:30.

I walked from the bus terminal to the hotel. It was a 3-minute walk from Takachiho Shrine, so there was no problem walking at all. It was nice that the valley was close, except for the steep slope. The staff was friendly, and the breakfast was great. It's a good place to quietly take a bath and rest.
