Crocodile Camp Masai Mara

We stayed at crocodile camp for a few nights and booked a safari with them for two days. We had a really bad experience doing the safari where our guide and our driver were fighting about direction for hours driving through the grass nowhere near a road, at this point we were definitely lost. They ended up getting mad at each other and the driver being upset started driving recklessly through a field of big boulders. This broke the car which broke down 2 minutes later. We had to wait for hours before being able to get picked up. This situation was going on for so long that we barely got to see any animals during our day which we paid a lot of money for. The biggest problem was how management dealt with the situation. We told them what happened and they treated us like we were lying. They told us we had to pay for the rescue car out of our own pocket because our guides didn’t call the right person to come rescue us. We felt otherwise. Instead of them dealing with their guides, they made US deal with them. They came in super angry and yelling at us. Meanwhile management was nowhere to be seen. We spent our whole night arguing with different people until we decided to go to bed. The camp never did anything to compensate us for the trouble they put us through and frankly I didn’t feel safe sleeping there that night.

Super! Tolle Flächen fürs Campen, super Lage direkt am Fluss und vor dem Gate des Masai Mara Schutzgebietes! Leckeres Essen, nettes Personal und die sanitären Einrichtungen waren auch vollkommen in Ordnung. Unfassbar schöne Lodges mit tollem Blick auf den Fluss (inklusive Flusspferde) und großer Terrasse!

But the best part of my stay was the safari experience. The campsite has its own Landcruisers and guides who know the area like the back of their hand. They took us to the best spots to see the animals, and we were lucky enough to witness two lion kills and even saw crocodiles take down a zebra while trying to cross the Mara river. It was simply an amazing experience that I will never forget.
