Barka Galéria Hotel és Étterem

Went to this hotel with my girlfriend and were received by a very friendly receptionist. In general all people working there were very nice. They have a small spa which one can use on a 20 minute notice so they can prepare it. There is a hot tub and a sauna and a light sauna. Very nice, we drank our champagne there which was a present. We also dined in the restaurant one evening and that was not cheap but good quality. Very nice wines for reasonable prices.

We were personally invited to the Lions Tállya Borvendéglő and Borhotel, one of the jewelry of Tokaj wine region. Tállya’s past is noble and historic among Tokaj mountain villages. The old, original Szirmay mansion is a beautifully renovated, ancient beauty that reflects the taste and social life of the rich people from last century. The environment resembling traditions is very clean and well maintained. It can bring back the past even for an urban person. The new wing is harmonized with the old one, the rooms are comfortable with good, dry air, the furniture is newish. Different guests and the most varied companies can be at the same time in all suitable places without disturbing each other. Cleanliness is impeccable. The prices of wines are appropriate. The wines of the hotel are great, have nice flavour, their aromas are fresh and without any smack because the barrels are treated immaculately. The wines live up to the Tokaj traditions, the botrytis flavour stays in the background so they are very enjoyable for lots of people. It turned out while tasting a larger quantity that chemical compounds of the wines is almost zero which is a standard of excellence. The menu suiting perfectly to the wines is excellent. The food serving is professional, flavours and smells are excellent. The waiters’ manners are professional. The reception services – welcoming and informing guests, preparing bills – are excellent.

Terrific restaurant with both traditional and non-traditional takes on Hungarian cuisine! The chef and manager are both very cordial, and the waitress at the restaurant could not be friendlier. The atmosphere is very "lost in time" and the food is delicious!
