Buckingham Place

Just superb. I had high expectations before I came but once here my experience exceeded my expectations. The staff were outstanding, so friendly and happy. The food was excellent and the dinner was different every night. Our time here was so relaxing, peaceful and Nick, the owner, was so helpful. Couldn’t fault our time here and can highly recommend this hotel.

What a wonderful hotel. Where to start? The colours everywhere are just a dopamine hit (think Miami 1990's with a mid-century touch). The staff are incredibly helpful, professional and kind. Nick, the owner and spirit of the hotel is a generous host and charming raconteur who enjoys meeting everyone and creates a feeling of welcome and ease. The food is delicious and the menu outstanding. Everything about the hotel is of a high standard and really well thought-out (though we didn't discover the swim up bar until the day we were leaving. This will require another visit). Thank you so much for a really memorable stay.

This is the perfect place in Tangalle. Buckingham Place is magic, wonderful rooms, excellent service and amazing staff. The food was also super- with new menus every day. But I think what I loved the most was the vibrant colors all over the hotel ( yellow, blue and turquoise. It made me in an excellent mood every day. I can strongly recommend this hotel, you will love it!

This was our second visit to Buckingham Place. We first stayed 10 years ago and have been dreaming of returning ever since. Now, as a family of four, we returned and the kids loved it as much as we did! If anything - it was even better than our first stay! Everything was fantastic - the friendly staff, amazing food, stunning view and beach and huge warm pool. We were welcomed back like old friends and we left knowing we will return! Book it, you will not be disappointed!

Echoing countless other comments on this site, Buckingham Place is one of the most memorable and probably the best hotel we’ve ever stayed in, and was the highlight of our 16 day trip. From the moment we drove into the hotel complex to the moment we were waved off by the team saying goodbye, everything was simply perfect….every member of the team was congenial and ‘on it’ …nothing was too much trouble and needs we didn’t know we had were met and exceeded. They have all been trained by Nick Buckingham, the owner and very amenable host, whose pride in what he has built is understandable and just shines through. The food is excellent…it didn’t occur to us to explore eating anywhere else, the pool area and gardens are Conde Nast cover shoot worthy and we enjoyed a skilful massage at the spa. We had a secluded superior room and it was huge…a separate dressing area and a bathroom to die for…open air shower anyone? The attention to detail was inherent throughout, from the flowers that adorned our room to the candle and matches next to the sunken bath tub, to the refillable water bottles that meant we didn’t see a plastic bottle for the entirety of our stay….and the coffee brought to our room every morning to drink on the veranda was especially welcome. The beach is deserted, which we loved, with miles of clean beautiful sand accompanied by roaring waves, nature at its finest. The only time we ventured out was for a couple of hours one evening…it was a wrench…but we were rewarded by the sight of a turtle laying eggs and baby turtles scrabbling to the sea for the first time…just magical. I almost didn’t write this review as I’d love to keep Buckingham Place a secret, but as it was recommended to me, I’m doing the right thing and recommending it also. I was unusually emotional when it came to leave and we’re already talking about when we can return. It really is a gem of a place.
