Once, the little villages of the west Bohus coast was ... nothing more than littel fishing villages. Nowadays they are the most expensive places you can stay at in Sweden. Compare with the transitions of the French riviera for instance (Mandelieu, Theoule, even Cannes - not to mention St Tropez). Well, that far we haven't gone ... yet. But it is very expensive for what you get. So, how is this "old inn", transformed to a modern hotel? Well: sort of nice and in many respects cosy. Quite ordinary, but nothing basic lacks. You will have a small nice room. Fine beds. No AC. Reception is open... well once in a while. Some guests must pick up their keys in the restaurant, which is 200 meters away. Not a problem in the summertime. All eating is done in the restaurant. As mentioned a few hundred meters from the actual hotel. This building is the original "inn". Breakfast ordinary. Nothing fancy at all. But ok. Staying at this rather charming hotel is nice. But you aren't near the very coast. Although it's one of the best options for an overnight. Restaurant reviewed separately. Overpriced - but, as said, this is an overpriced area.

Beautiful surroundings. We had a spacious room in the 2nd floor corner, with windows facing 2 directions. You can buy drinks (at least local beer) from the reception and enjoy it in the garden chairs or in the room. There are plenty of restaurants and a supermarket within a short walking distance. Parking lot is quite cramped, slopey and gravel, so not very convenient for motorbikes. Would be nice to have the restaurant menu in the room, so you could think about having dinner there. As the menu was not available we decided to buy salads from the supermarket for dinner. Breakfast was overall tasty, but there were so small portions laid out, so everything was continuously running out and had to wait for refilling. Room was a bit too expensive for 1 night stay incl b/fast.

My daughter and I live in Canada and we visited our family roots in the Tanumshede area on a farm called Tagerod. We rented a car in Goteborg and found the hotel very convenient to everything we wanted to see. We thought the breakfast was great with so many options and we sat on the patio or inside. The room was quiet and very good for us. We really enjoyed the large patio and the very comfortable furniture at the front area. We're glad we stayed in this quaint hotel that has so much history. We enjoyed visiting new friends in Grebbestad and other small seaside hamlets of villages. This is a beautiful area of Sweden.

Superior?
Helt ok, men superior er ikke veldig superior med Ikea senger og vinyl "parkett". Prisen var i alle fall superior, dvs ganske høy.

Dinner at the facility and the morning breakfast (included in the stay) were delicious. The restaurant building is historic and cozy. Delightful!

Unfortunately, this property offered me no help in getting to the venue when the bus dropped me at the shopping centre 5 mins drive away. I think it’s pretty poor that they didn’t try to pick me up. I couldn’t get a taxi, and was stranded in the cold & rain.
Luckily a local bus driver took pity, went off his route & dropped me at the venue. I’ve been at other guest houses who have picked me up from public transport. Caring for your customers is a BIG part of hospitality.
