Nrma Tathra Beachfront Holiday Park

Drove from Lakes Entrance to Tathra and checked in with friendly staff to Beach House 3 which is at the far end of all of the accommodation. There were very few tent people so the house was quite private and peaceful. A short access path opposite the deck of the house takes you to a beautiful and virtually deserted beach. You can see the water from the deck which has a bbq area with a table and 6 chairs. Inside is a living area with uncomfortable seating like most places we stayed at during this trip. There is a very well appointed kitchen and a dining area with another table and 6 chairs. Towards the rear are 3 bedrooms - one with a king bed and ensuite, one with a queen bed and one with 4 bunks. These share a bathroom. Overall, it's quite comfortable accommodation and could suit 2 couples with kids. The house has it's own parking space which could comfortably fit 2 cars. However, the code system and boom gate for entry to the park would probably mean that a 2nd car would have to be parked out in the street. Across that street from the park are a few shops, a couple of cafes and a pizza place called Drift. We ate there on our first night and the meal was just okay. Another reviewer advised that the pub is walking distance. I guess it is if you're a mountain goat and very fit. Alternatively, it's a 2-minute drive up an extremely steep road with an interesting hairpin bend. The town also has a small supermarket/newsagency and a bottle shop. There's not much for us in Tathra so we're unlikely to stay there again. Later in this trip, we stayed for 4 nights in the only Beach House at the Merimbula NRMA and enjoyed that and Merimbula township far more. The Tathra park offers a range of accommodation options including Beach Villas and glamping. Both options are in the busiest sections of the park and all are very close to each other. We were glad to have the relative peace and quiet of Beach House 3. Further afield from Tathra, we had great lunches at Octopii at Bermagui and at the Dromedary Hotel at Central Tilba (a very old town with lots of quaint shops. The leathergoods and jewellery shops were particularly good). The drives to both places are picturesque (40 mins to Bermagui along the coast and around an hour to Central Tilba if you bypass Bega by taking the turnoff to Princes Hwy at Kerrisons Lane. Blink and you'll miss it.)

Always fabulous and generous service by Tony and the park team. So helpful and thoughtful. Would recommend this park to anyone. The Glamping and Safari tents by the beach are fantastic. They make a short holiday feel much longer, due to the ease of arrival and departure. Thank you.

This is the loveliest caravan park. Friendly staff, good sized caravan sites some with ensuites. There are family bathrooms x 4 with a bath/ shower and toilet, newly added for families. Amazing camp kitchen - very homely. Music on a Sunday, brewery at Drift opposite and Tathra hotel with its brewery walking distance. DONT HESITATE - it’s fabulous

Absolutely wonderful park in a perfect location. The amenities are spacious and clean with great showers. The camp kitchen is awesome and was a great place to be on the cold windy night we were there. We lit the fire and it was cosy. All the staff are very friendly and welcoming. The pool area is fantastic and the pool was heated which was great. Access to the beach is very easy and you can even buy a coffee from the van or walk across the road to another great coffee shop. We absolutely loved everything and would definitely come back again.

Stayed here for a week on lots of recommendations including TA. Cannot speak highly enough of this park from location to facilities. We had ensuite sites backing onto beach. Ensuites were new and included bath mats. Several beach access paths link onto the park and it is a most beautiful beach. Bathroom and laundry facilities are all new and top notch. Large communal area with undercover area including camp kitchen and fire pit. The grounds are as neat as a pin and pool area also great. Park over the road from Tathra shops and bowling club. Coffee van open every morning until 11am. Every Tuesday & Sunday they have music sessions and we were lucky enough to be there to listen to Garry Carson Jones who was terrific. Staff are all wonderful. They also have lovely cabins. We will defiantly be back and will recommend.

We stayed at tathra beach from the 2 to 10 September for rocka billy week. What an amazing, enjoyable week it was. We stayed in the two bedroom surf villa, nice and roomy, everything you needed supplied, linen, towels, hot water bottles, electric blankets. We had a lovely spacious outdoor verandah with a view to the beach. We brough the passes for the week to enjoy the daily and nightly entertainment. It was so enjoyable . Staff are so friendly and make you feel welcome. We enjoyed the variety of food vans during the week. The coffee van is wonderful, with fresh slices or muffins daily. Great coffee too.
