Premier Inn Taunton East

We stayed at Premier Inn Taunton East for two nights (11–12 July 2025), and it was an awful experience from start to finish. The rooms — ours, plus my daughter’s and son’s — were unbearably hot, with no air conditioning or proper ventilation. It was impossible to get any rest. For a hotel that boasts a “Good Night Guarantee,” this felt like a joke. When we raised the issue with reception, the staff were rude and dismissive, showing no interest in helping us or even acknowledging the problem. Worst of all, the heat made my wife — who has previously suffered a stroke — very ill during our stay. This hotel clearly doesn’t take guest wellbeing seriously. We had actually been considering using Premier Inn for future corporate bookings with our company, but after this experience, we will be taking our business elsewhere. If you value basic comfort, respectful service, and your health — avoid this hotel.

Had a fantastic stay here with all my family. The hotel is a bit dated and unfortunately it was very hot, but the receptionist did everything she could to help us all feel a bit cooler. All staff were very friendly and one of the cleaners even helped my dad walk to his room because he was struggling with the heat. I thought that was very nice of her. Needs modernising here but the staff were all great. Thank you

This hotel is not with current times. Our booking details were ignored clearly. Booked 2 adults and 2 infants. No travel cot provided despite confirming this on my booking, no bed made up for my eldest child. Staff seemed shocked when I asked for this to be done. Room was on first floor, no lift. This is not even mentioned in their hotel website page that there is no lift. Had to carry a double pram up and down the stairs. The room was 27 degrees. A small fan is given but is not sufficient. Was very worried for my children of over heating whilst sleeping due to the horrendous room conditions. At check out was trying to complain to reception staff who didn’t seem to care at all as when I was telling them my issues just had a reply which was thanks very much. Found staff to be rude, not approachable or friendly at all. Would never stay here again. Bathroom had mouldy shower curtain, hair in the bath. Bathroom was extremely dated. This hotel needs a complete re vamp and needs to meet 2025 conditions for accessibility. I have emailed my concerns and complaint to premier inn guest relations.

Needed a base to attend my father's funeral. evening meal and breakfast was ok. wifi a bit poor. car parking great. An 8 out of 10.

Stayed recently for a friends wedding booked an early check in and got there for the 2 rooms to be ready for us. As it was hot the reception knew we were staying for a wedding and managed to find extra fans for the rooms and got some ice from the restaurant for our “getting ready drinks” thanks to all the staff for a lovely stay

Honestly we cannot say anything good about our stay. This hotel is not representative of the premier inn we have come to know and love. We've never seen anything like this before, from the beds made by 10 year olds, litter in the bin, carpets definitely not hoovered, an unbelievable amount of hairs in the bathroom, paint peeling on the walls, spiders nesting in the top of the window box, water staining on the cups which look like they've been used, and just wiped over, and the room just generally really really tired and shabby. When we asked if we could switch rooms, we were told that the hotel is full. No apology, just a very shy girl who couldn't help.
