The Victorian Inn

We spent 3 nights at the Victorian Inn, in Telluride, Colorado. It is a beautiful property on a lovely street with an outdoor hot tub and fire pit. However, it does not have air conditioning, nor an elevator, but they do have window fans and an oscillating fan in each room.. We are 74 and 72 and we really struggled to get our luggage up to our 3rd floor room and back down. Especially., at that altitude. Telluride has a free daily bus service, which will pick you up and drop you off, right across the street from the inn, as well as any place in town. Unfortunately, staff at the inn didn’t have that little tidbit of information, although I asked. They provide a nice large coffeemaker in the room, with coffee and the accompanying standard fare. And they provide a very nice free continental breakfast each morning, which you must take to your room to enjoy. Our biggest issue was that the hot water wasn’t always hot, and if the inn is full, they don’t have enough parking spaces to accommodate every guest’s vehicle. And, if there are no spaces, you’re on your own to drive around and search for one. That’s why the bus is important, if you do find a parking space at the inn. You won’t need your vehicle.

1 st night the ceiling was so thin any movement was very loud. The next morning the tub faucet blew off and made the shower unusable. They moved us to a different room. The next night there was no fan in the room and they had people talking outside our window on a phone for over an hour while we were trying to go to sleep. The staff in the office got us a fan for the next night. The fan quit working about the time we went to bed. Dialed zero and was given a different number as there is no one there after 8 pm. the other number said for emergencies. But it was the only number that was given. In answering the phone I explained I was hoping to get a different fan if possible. I was rudely asked "What is the emergency?" I explained there was no other number. At that point he said nothing he could do. I responded for the $360 per night i exspected a little different service... He explained he was the owner and I would pay more down the road. Rude, arrogant and a stupid owner... will never stay here again and want others to know... Compliments to the staff and sorry they have to work for a person like this.... Get your place set up so customers are your priority...

The Victorian Inn Telluride Warning about staying at Victorian Inn, Telluride WARNING! Do your research, I didn't find out until after that this place has terrible reviews and an "F" rating with the Better Business Bureau for unresolved complaints. They don't fore warn you that there is no parking available at the hotel. We arrived on Friday 6/13 around 2:30PM for our check-in at 4PM. We drove around for blocks trying to find parking and could not. My wife needs to be close to hotel for access, in frustration we finally left and ended our weeklong road trip early. I tried calling the hotel, but no answers. I emailed them when we returned home, but based on past reviews, I don't expect a response. My recommendation is, bite the bullet and spend the extra money for a condo in the Mountain Top Village. FYI, Telluride is no longer the quaint little valley town. It is so packed full of homes, the streets are terrible, and the parking is non-existent. Do yourself a favor and stay in Ouray instead.

We loved the location of this property. Easy walk to everything - downtown, the gondola, hikes nearby. The room was basic, could use some updating and repairs but it did the trick for a one night stay as a family in town. Front desk staff were a bit cold and short, not as welcoming I would have expected. Overall, we enjoyed our stay as a budget friendly option.

Really close to downtown, clean and comfy accommodations, and great breakfast. Fans are in the drawers if you get hot! We didnt realize until the next day.
