Let me please first disclose that I travel a lot as a part of my occupation. Pre-COVID-19, I typically stayed in a Residence Inn by Marriott 6 to 9 months a year for the past 16 years. I have stayed at Residence Inn hotels all over the United States of America. I have stayed at some really awesome RI properties and I’ve also stayed at some really terrible RI properties - This specific location falls somewhere in the middle. This location is located in The Colony, Texas, is immediately off of interstate 121, is very accessible and easy to get to and there is ample parking. There is a dedicated space for you to walk and exercise your pets in a fully gated area. There is also a separate area for grilling and cooking located by the in-ground pool. There are at least four nice restaurants within walking distance (3-4 minutes) from the hotel. As soon as I arrived into the hotel, I was immediately greeted by the front desk attendee who was extremely friendly, courteous and efficient. My room had been upgraded prior to my arrival and check-in was less than 5 minutes. I checked in on Thursday, May 26, 2022 and will be departing on Wednesday June 1st. The elevators were in close proximity to the check in area and I was on my way to my Room on the fourth floor. The Room: The room requires a key card to access. This property does not have the capabilities of using your smart phone to unlock your room door. My room was on the top floor as I requested and I received a corner room. The first thing I noted about the room was the odor. The room smells like very strong Indian food. In rooms like this, the hotels typically will have to Ozone the room to remove the odor. Unfortunately, ozoning a room will typically take the room out of rotation for three days and most properties don’t have room capacity to do this. I have been opening windows and burning candles since Thursday to try to help with the smell; however, the smell seems to be absorbed into the carpet and the upholstered furniture. Kitchen: The kitchen is extremely nice with granite countertops and a full size range as opposed to the typical two burner cooktop that is usually standard in most rooms. The kitchen and all appliances were clean. This room also comes with a full-size refrigerator with ice maker, microwave and dishwasher. I did not use the ice maker as I prefer to make my own ice cubes with bottle water. There is ample cabinet space and storage in the kitchen area. In my kitchen I was missing a dish towel and the 1 gallon water pitcher that is usually in the refrigerator for use. I asked for a kitchen towel from the front desk on Thursday, Friday and Saturday with no success - it is now Monday and still no kitchen towel. Living Room: The living room is very spacious and nice with a sectional couch that can be unfolded for an additional bed. There’s a desk, a two chair dining table and a coffee table in front of the sectional couch. The artwork is nice and there is a
