Travelodge Thetford Riverside

Staff helpful and friendly as I was not from this area I asked frankie the nice receptionist. What i could do in the area and she pointed me in the right direction the rooms and easy to get around and room spacious and beds comfortable bathroom was clean and had some shampoo conditioner and hand wash also plenty of toilet paper and the towels where super soft room lots of tea coffee and sugar in room and as it was hot the fan i had in room was needed.

Stayed for 1 night, took us a while to find a parking space as it is used for anybody who wants to park. On arrival the lady on reception was very pleasant, when we got to our room we found it hadn’t been hoovered and the toilet was dirty, so we asked for another room, the receptionist was most apologetic, and offered us another room, much cleaner and with a better view overlooking the green and bridge leading into the town. Would stay there again as it is in a nice area with plenty of shops and places to eat.

This was what we needed, a hotel near the town in Thetford. PLUS POINTS. FREE CAR PARK, nice location next to the river. we got a warm welcome from the lad on reception. We paid extra for a noon check in, our room was ready on time. The room was clean overlooking the river. As it had been hot, a fan is provided in the room. Although no restaurant on site, breakfast boxes can be purchased for £5.95. However, a huge Wetherspoons is only 6 mins walk away, we aslo noticed other cafes, etc. The statue on a bench of Capatin Mainwering (Dads Army) is right near the hotel and the Dads Army Museum is only 6 mins away. Even if you did not know where to go in the evening, a 3 screen cinema is also yards away. Although you could hear people strolling by chatting by the river, we simply closed the window. Not a problem for us, I always take ear plugs to hotels, but did not need them. If that would bother you, simply ask for a room on the other side overlooking the car park. I deal stopover location for the many attractions in the area.

Clean room and bathroom. Comfy bed. Friendly receptionist who gave useful advice on where to eat. Car park a bit small. Only 1 place available, luckily, when we arrived.

Parking with a disabled badge is not possible others parked in spaces without any permit. People using two gyms use the car park and park and drive dangerously. Staff said they can’t do anything. Room initially I thought was nice but on closer inspection very dirty. The mattress was disgusting and the base was badly stained and so dusty . Bathroom had hair in it and the outside noise from children and youths prevented sleep they went till early hours. Was worried about no car. Staff said they couldn’t do anything. The cycle up and down ramp at hotel and come in and use lifts and staff do nothing. Felt unsafe

What an awful experience! Staff were useless and frankly quite rude.. young chap on reception didn’t seem interested in helping, more interested in going to sit back down. Room was filthy, when I asked for more towels and tea at reception, he huffed and seemed like it was a chore!! Outside had lots of kids hanging about, very rude. Receptionist had no interest in easing anxiety just shrugged it off. The location is in the town centre so prepare yourself! The kids were in and out of the hotel.. I understand now why travelodge is a ‘budget’ hotel. They do not care about their guests. Such a shame as this place has gone downhill. I visited in 2022 and had a lovely experience and now it seems to have fallen to shambles. The root of the problem? Negligent staff.
