Amankora

Perfect. Every detail is attended to and the staff is extraordinary. The food is fabulous, diverse, a culinary triumph. The property has only 16 rooms which keeps the crowds small. There are activities to engage in, excursions to join in, and a personal guide and driver to attend to whatever else you may want to do. Put Amankora on your list.

it is located in the right area of capital. it is surrounded by a lovely park and is very quiet. despite it offers less rooms than paro, the common areas are larger and more luxurious (restaurant, lobby, terrace, shop). The luxury standards of Aman group are highly respected and the staff is really professional. Its chef is the best of the 3 amankoras we visited. Food was obviously sublime in all locations but this chef is a runner up!

Beautiful breathtaking place. Staff are wonderful and attentive. Lives up to the Aman expectations and some more. Love that the rooms are always done up when you leave for breakfast, or an outing. Personalised turn down service . Adds to the whole Bhutan experience

I loved my 7-night stay at 4 of the Amankora lodges. All the properties are beautiful, with an understated and very zen design (they're also very similar so don't expect huge variation from lodge to lodge). My favourites were Punakha (which has a very nice heated swimming pool, and a cozy meditation room in the main house which I used quite a bit), and Thimphu, which is just a short distance from town, located in a peaceful forest with a small stream running through it. The staff at all the lodges were fantastic: hospitable, kind and very attentive. You really can't ask for more. Bhutan itself is among my favourite places I've ever travelled to: incredible nature, beautiful monuments and architecture, and shockingly few tourists. I hope it stays this way. My itinerary, which we more or less planned day-by-day was: Thimphu - Gangtey - Punakha - Punakha - Thimphu - Paro - Paro My one bit of advice to any active traveller would be to organise a trek in addition to staying at the lodges: this is the one thing I felt I missed out on and will be sure to do next time.

We had a fantastic stay at this majestic property set amongst woodlands high above the centre of Thimpu, the perfect escape from the city streets. Our suite was everything I’d hoped for and more. The treatments were an exceptional standard and the entire team delivered a true Aman experience from start to finish. A special thank you must go to Mongul for taking such great care of us and giving us plenty of background to life in Bhutan.

Wir besuchten alle fünf Lodges während unseres Aufenthalts in Bhutan und blieben zwischen 3 und 4 Nächte in jeder Lodge. Wir hatten das Glück, am zweiten Tag der Wiedereröffnung Bhutans (nach 2 1/2 Jahren Lockdown) in Paro anzukommen. Der Empfang in den Aman Resorts war außerordentlich herzlich, und während der gesamten Reise hatten wir das Gefühl, dass auch die Bevölkerung von Bhutan sehr froh darüber waren, dass Touristen ihr schönes Land wieder besuchen durften. Unser Guide und Fahrer von Aman Resorts begleitete uns während der gesamten Reise. Alles war perfekt organisiert und unsere Wünsche bezüglich der Besichtigungen und der Dauer der Ausflüge wurden immer erfüllt. Wir konnten unser Tagesprogramm planen und hatten genügend Zeit, die sehr schönen Lodges zu genießen. Ein sehr großes Kompliment geht an unseren Guide und Fahrer. Der Guide hat ein großes Wissen über die Geschichte, Kultur, Landschaft und das Essen in Bhutan. Und unser Fahrer hat uns sicher, komfortabel und souverän von Ort zu Ort gebracht. Auch das gesamte Personal in den Lodges ist sehr aufmerksam, zuvorkommend und hilfsbereit. Ich habe noch nie ein Resort erlebt, in dem alle Mitarbeiter bereits am zweiten Reisetag wussten, was unsere Vorlieben waren. Und dieses Wissen wurde von Lodge zu Lodge weitergegeben und das Personal wusste es, bevor wir in der nächsten Lodge ankamen. Was wir ebenfalls zu schätzen wussten, war das sehr effiziente Housekeeping. Sobald wir unsere Suiten verließen, wurde alles wie von Zauberhand wieder bereitgestellt, egal zu welcher Tages- oder Nachtzeit. Auch die Küche war auf alle unsere Bedürfnisse eingestellt. Ob Frühstück, Mittagessen, Abendessen oder Picknick unterwegs, alles war immer perfekt zubereitet und sehr lecker. Die einzelnen Lodges sind sehr unterschiedlich in Bezug auf Umgebung und Ausstattung, die Suiten sind jedoch jeweils identisch. Meine Lieblingslodge ist die Amankora Punakha Lodge. Ich würde Reisenden empfehlen, mindestens 3 Nächte in jeder Lodge zu verbringen, damit man genügend Zeit hat, die Lodges zu genießen - sie sind alle wunderschön. Wir hatten eine außergewöhnlich interessante und schöne Reise in Bhutan und den Amankoras und würden jederzeit wiederkommen.
