The location is perfectly fine and convenient for us.
We can see the aircraft landing and departure clearly from our room. The toilet seat is too tall and not comfortable to use. Also I found spider webs located on the ceiling when I laid down on bed which made me feel uncomfortable.

We splurged and booked the King Suite w jacuzzi tub. I read the reviews and was nervous because they weren’t very favorable. I contacted the hotel and told them what my expectations were based on the price and what experience I was looking for. The GM contacted me back and said he would personally make sure the room was ready for us. He and his staff did not disappoint. The reviews online must be old and definitely do not reflect anything we saw in our stay at this beautiful hotel. The room furnishings were beautiful and modern. The jacuzzi tub and the entire room was spotless. The tub worked flawlessly. There are two modern in wall temperature controls. The room smelled great! We ate at the hotel restaurant, Skal when we arrived. The menu is varied with Nordic dishes as well as Canadian favorites. We thoroughly enjoyed our attentive server, Joe. The food was delicious and we plan to try it more times during our stay. We have only the highest marks for the Valhalla Hotel and its staff. Thank you very much.

Our first hotel on our Road trip from Winnipeg to Ottawa. Arrived in the evening and was able to find the hotel easily. They were cleaning the floor in the front lobby so all the furniture in the front area was removed but I was able to check in quickly. The room was neat in that the bed area was sunken over the rest of the room. Had a nice pool, which we used but no hot tub. The room had a dirty AC smell. There were a lot of people doing seasonal work staying there, but found them very polite and no noise issues. The EV Charger was available but the parking wasn't great. Had to pay for EV charging but everything seemed to work.

I concur with another poster that the hotel's process for refunding (the previously unmentioned) "Security Deposit" of $150+ US is outrageous! Our CC was charged and the hotel stated that the "refund" will take up to 10 business days. WHAT? In addition, the room we were given (515) was about as attractive as a jail cell. Looked clean, but 1) you could NOT see out the window, 2) the bathroom was the size of a postage stamp, 3) The bed frame made tons of noise, and lastly 4) my wife injured her ankle on a chunk of metal protruding from the bed frame. In our opinion, the food in the Skal restaurant was really poor. Appeared to be microwaved and still took about 40 minutes to get our order. We would never stay here again, and hope that this review serves as a warning to others. Nuff said.
